You right. K. Gates and Kevin Gates are 2 different people. I have friends and family from N.O. that actually knew K. Gates and they were trippin when he ended up on that Sqad 5 tape back in 2003. He use to push his mixtapes back in the day too (Aids Spread and Burn, Lemme Get Me, The American Dream) They sound nothing alike either unless people only hear the Louisiana accent

They were the same, and this type of music just has an audience and draw now.
When this type of music first showed up.
People paid no attention to it at all.
It is not new and just a clever concise controlled spin.
So most of the obnoxious delivery points magic made that were experimental and did not hit.
Covered up the same skill set used now that does resonate.
It is not new, just a more highlighted attention to cadence.
