Is Klay Thompson in Game 6 in 2016 the most consequential performance in modern NBA history?

Couldn't beat the warriors up 3-2 but I'm supposed to believe they beat the champs that year. It's all would've could've should've.
This has already been debunked a million times.

GS were relatively at full strength and were essentially playing at the peak of their powers in the WCF. That series took a lot out of them (conversely the Cavs had an easy run to the Finals). GS went up 3-1 in the Finals - Steph was deteriorating, Bogut got injured, Iggy was hobbled with his back, Dray got suspended and a whole lot of favorable officiating allowed Cavs to get back into it.

Replay that series 10 times and GS is winning it 8-9 times.

If Cavs played the version of GS that OKC faced, they would’ve lost 4-1 or 4-0. If OKC played the version of GS that Cavs faced, they would’ve won 4-2.

Cavs were really the 3rd-best team that season, they were just fortunate with how the postseason unfolded.

Bron might have 5 or 6 rings :blessed:

I've searched the Multi Verse like Dr. Strange and Bron always tops out at 4. If he goes the non-hoe route he only gets 2, and only in Universes that COVID exists that he actually gets 4 :yeshrug:

Jordan and Kobe max out at 8 if you wondering

Cavs swept them that year. You underestimate just much easier it was the Cavs to matchup with a non shooting backcourt.

You're using outdated Endgame logic.

Based upon Loki this is only universe where Bron has just 4 rings. The powers that be are trying to keep this the sacred timeline so there is a tougher GOAT debate.

Lebron’s masterclass performance against the Raps in round 2 of the 2018 playoffs. He turned back the clock in that series, he was at his best in my opinion- he combined the power, energy and athleticism of the first half of his career( first Cavs/miami heat stint )and the killer instinct/sense of purpose/veteran poise/on court vision/situational awareness/surgical shooting precision of his second Cavs stint. The underdog (on paper) 4th seeded cavs swept the favorites (on paper)top seeded raps in 4 straight games. That series literally created a Butterfly effect : This disappointing and gutless no show by the raptors in the playoffs led to the immediate dismissal and firing of “coach of the year” Dwayne Casey and the promotion/hiring of former assistant coach nick nurse.
Then it led to demar derozan and Jakob poeltl being traded to San Antonio for Kawhi Leonard and Danny green.
Then It led to the raptors sending both Jonas valanciunas and Delon Wright to Memphis in return of Marc gasol at the trade deadline
Then It led to the raptors taking Jeremy Lin off waivers
Then It led eventually to the raptors first ever championship
Then It led to Kawhi leaving to the clippers later that summer ( free agent decision) and the mega blockbuster Paul George trade between the thunder and the clippers( and OKC getting Shai gilgeous Alexander in the same trade )
And finally It led to clippers being consistent competitive contenders and the thunder becoming NBA champions in the next decade.

We should never forget Zaza pachulia who deliberately hurt Kawhi in game 1 of the 2017 WCF…another important moment who impacted the future and history of the nba on some butterfly effect shyt

That series changed the landscape of the NBA for the next decade plus, and how we see the biggest stars in the league. We are still feeling the effects of it. I still believe it was the most consequential game

Also, I contend that the OKC/Warriors regular season overtime game where Curry hit that long-bomb game-winner in 2016 was the greatest regular season game of all time. Since then, the regular season has had the narrative of not mattering (the 73-9 warriors not winning it all also led to that narrative)

Side note: when Covid shut everything down, this was the very first game they posted on youtube when they were putting up old replays btw. Easily the most amazing regular season game at least in modern NBA times

When would tie have happened? What year

During the 1999-2000 season, the first ring of the 3 peat.

So yeah if the Lakers dont beat Portland, maybe Jerry Buss and West change their minds that summer. I doubt it though West fought hard to get Kobe in the first place. Good thing it all worked out cuz we see how Kobe went off in 2000-2001. We would've been trading him right before his official breakout season.

The Lakers, who won 67 games, were going to trade Kobe for Jason Kidd and a rookie Shawn Marion?

I have never heard that before.
