It actually is positive, cause throughout the years, Kobe has been idolized and received a lot of Acclaim by his peers and public, even more so than Lebron untill a couple of years ago, due to him taking these shots. Without this, Kobe isn’t as praised.

Mamba mentality has literally become an anthem for a lot of players even outside of basketball. It works in Kobe’s favor cause he’s kobe.

Kyrie hit the GW Game 7 shot and credited Mamba mentality. You had that college chick who was hitting clutch shots during March Madness and credited Mamba mentality

But oh Kobe wasn't clutch and only took bad shots to sabotage his team :mjlol:

I was happy when he missed but he made enough to anger me. I didn't necessarily mean clutch just in general as he had a good NBA career.

He made enough to anger a lot of nikkas obviously :manny:

You’re talking narratives.
None of which actually makes missing shots a positive.

That’s just spin.

Yup

That moment right there happened, and I was like ‘ok, I’m fine’ ” Irving said. “And all I was thinking about in the back of my mind was Mamba mentality. Just Mamba mentality, that’s all I was thinking.”

Breh, mamba mentality is literally a damn shoe

Nike Kyrie 3 'Mamba Mentality' Nike+ SNKRS

And You over talking about a damn spin, as if kobe hasn’t been worshipped over the shots he takes:russ:its a positive as in it worked for Kobe. There is no negative perception around him due to him missing shots

Somebody like a Lebron, who plays the more efficient way, has actually been called non clutch for YEARS and criticized by the public for not taking shots like “Jordan and Kobe” untill this past post season.

That’s the ironic part. Kobe style of play, is apart of why his legacy is as celebrated as it is

You can’t name ONE player who has took the amount of stupid shots Kobe has, who’s been praised for it like he has.

Kobe has a legion of stans inside and outside the media who tirelessly spin even the most negative traits and accomplishments into positives.

None of this makes missing all those shots a positive on the basketball court.

When I saw him shoot those 4 airballs in the playoffs as a rookie I was just like :dwillhuh:

This nikka is missing a piece of his brain. He's obviously got a better mentality than me because I don't know if I'd ever get that out of my mind. Look at Nick Anderson, loved the dude but he would have been in shambles after that.

:mjlol:He has 5 rings. If you want to exclude the rings as a second option, he has 2 taking dumb shots most of the time. 3rd all time Scorer and 4th all time Playoff scorer. Was the best playoff scorer 4 times last decade, which was tied with Lebron.
He was the leading scorer in the playoffs for 3 years straight at one point

I think it worked pretty well for him on the court, don’t you Raul?

I think he was a tremendous athlete and would have been a part of more championship teams if he was more efficient.

That’s what I think.

:ehh:

There’s a lot to praise about Kobe. Missing all those shots isn’t one of them.

Between 2004-2008 and 2011-beyond, he could of shot 80% FG/70% 3PT and still lost. Maybe he beats the pistons if he played different but those post Shaq years and that Boston 08 series, he still loses regardless. Lebron has averaged almost triple doubles efficiently and still lost back to back, just for reference:ehh:

45-47% isnt even inefficient. It's on par with the league average. nikkas exaggerate the whole efficiency thing when it comes to Kobe. There's nothing inefficient about winning most of your career, being the main distributor in the triangle offense which was a top offense most years, and time after time again bailing his team out in the clutch.

Fax. TD was "more efficient" and ended up with the same amount of titles. Shaq was "more efficient" and ended up with one less title.

Even in 2004, if Kobe shoots better they probably still lose considering all the circumstances that year. There's no year you can say the Lakers lost 100% because of Kobe's "inefficiency". It's nonsense.

I’m not dismissive of anyone who uses logic, intelligence, and factual information to support their opinions, wether they’re a player or not. I’ve said over and over that I’d respect any player who could give a logical intelligent explanation for why they feel kobe is better than lebron it one of the 5 best players ever. I just haven’t seen an example of a player doing that. All I’ve seen is random quotes from select players with no explanation. That’s not enough for me to tuck my personal opinion in and bow down to something that I don’t agree with. You’re full of shyt because you don’t that either. There are ex players who have said that they have lebron in the goat conversation above but you dismiss them because they don’t say what you want to believe. That’s all this about. You’re weak and childish.

Your comprehension is shyt, which makes sense because you’re one of the dumbest dudes on the site.

I’ve never said “tuck your opinion”, y’all gotta learn how to read.

I’m talking about you dudes who are on that “if you think player x is better than player y then you’re an idiot. Nobody could ever think that blah blah blah” even though you will have dozens of ACTUAL PLAYERS who have played with/against both players who say the same thing

Disagreeing is fine. Acting like an actual nba player does not know the game is not.
