I'm saying he's not really in this category.
They kept feeding Kobe the ball the same way klay got fed the ball. Didn't klay start of the season missing over 50% of his shots? If Kobe isn't black out than what is klay? When Kobe was on fire, he was on fire.

And when he wasn't on fire, his teammates sucked :jjjjj:

Exactly. We need Kobe to be on fire. Klay is playing with 2 superstars and was missing wide open shots at the beginning of the season. Klay can volume shooter at times himself. When he hits, he hits. When he can't, he can go stretches where it stays like that.

At his hottest, he was very efficient. I took a look at the games where Kobe scored 50+ in under 36 minutes. I really don't see how you can say that especially after watching all 4 of these games but the top 3 in particular.

55ppg on 61% shooting with an average time played of 33mpg.

That's pure fire.

Of course those were good games but a guy that had so many instances of taking so many god damned shots should have more than that if he was a guy who caught fire.

Maybe his awful shot selection and ballstopping extinguished his flames and prevented his fire from spreading?

I remember stans low key dissing him by saying he was the only guy who could score 50 on an offnight and it was true. He was the only guy who could struggle but still shoot enough to score 50.

You know you remember how many times Kobe would have something crazy like 25 in the first quarter and they would be losing by 4 to the nets or some shyt.

Kobe had more than his fair share of shytty shooting, you know this, I know this, Kobe knows this but we're talking about good games! That's the whole point of the thread. :russ:

I don't care how few and far between they are, they happened and it when they did it was supernova status.

Might get hate for this but...J.R. Smith's "on fire" is stupid dumb level "on fire" only second to Klay & Kobe imo.

There's "ON FVCKING FIRE"....and then there's the MJ, Dirk, Lebron type of "beat you to death with unstoppable consistency." Not the same imo.

I'm talking about good games too. I know what Kobe brought and when I think of guys just blacking out and making everything he isn't someone who comes to mind.

If Kobe made 3 shots in a row, staples center's roof was about to cave in because people love him so much and it was such a rare occurence. Meanwhile Klay went 13-13 in a quarter. They're just not the same.

Klay is out there getting open threes and easy layups we know they're not the same fool.

He's one of the best shooters of all time, not arguing that. But kobes zone >>> Klays. I'd say when steph gets hot he may be the hottest.

No I am talking about style of play. Look at Kobe's "on fire" games.

It will look like:

Its one guy just controlling the ball and there is a lot of clutter with the legit misses and the misses that get wiped off the stat sheet because of phantom fouls.

Its not like Klay just stands in a corner and spots up. He is running around all over the place to get his points.

Some people are just so enamored with things like and1 and hero style isolation ball that they find real team basketball to be boring.

During the Utah game mentioned above, he went 9-9 FG, 2-2 3PT, and 10-10 FT in the 3rd quarter. Come on man.
