@adamscochran
Even the LAPD is saying the protests are peaceful and managed (I.e. it is not an uncontrolled insurrection requiring the National Guard)
Do you know how fukking out of line you have to be, to be so authoritarian that the LAPD is siding with the protestors?!

@adamscochran
The replies from the anonymous accounts with long strings of numbers in their names is as expected:
“But cities are burning”
“Look at all the footage on TikTok”
90% of that is footage that has nothing to do with LA.
You’re being one-shotted by click farms trying to take in money and propaganda.
Hell half the stuff people have linked to is either:
-fireworks
-footage from more than 5 years ago
-footage from old protests *outside the US*
LAPD says it’s peaceful.
LAFD says they responded to *one* car fire related to the protests.
Hell even ICE’s own arrest report only included *5* violent gang members in the past 48 hours.
You’re cheering on authoritarianism, because of fake news sources, rather than practicing what you preach when it comes to “states rights”

@adamscochran
Here’s a detailed breakdown of some of the propaganda we’re seeing, where two seconds of the video in this thread (of protestors putting out a small fire) is being combined with footage from the California wildfires (earlier this year) to claim “LA is burning”
[Quoted tweet]
Here’s a great example of how propaganda is abused online to fuel authoritarian narratives, or just for money (as YouTube, TikTok and Twitter all pay for views)
Many people are talking about violent protestors setting “brush fires”
The videos you see will show a two second clip from this video, and then cellphone footage from larger brush fires from the LA wild fires earlier this year.
They cut off the fact that in this video, you see a protestor dumping water onto the small fire in the empty lot, and others with water bottles coming to help, after some young hooligans set fire to bushes in an empty lot with a firework.
It was reported on Frontline Wildfire, but by the time LAFD got on scene the protestors had already put out the flames, and so it wasn’t listed as an LAFD incident.
The LAFD puts out status alerts on *ALL* fires they respond to.
And Frontline Wildfire is a joint public citizen and government data source tracking *ALL* active and recent brush/wild/forest fires in California.
You can literally check for yourself if “the city is on fire” from multiple data sources - and guess what?!
It’s not.
During these protests vandals have:
-Set one car on fire
-Set off fire works
-Set one piece of debris on fire on a highway
-Set a bush on fire accidentally with fireworks in an empty lot (which was put out by protestors)
-hit cement pillars with hammers (wtf?)
And the idiots that did those things, should absolutely fukking be arrested by the LAPD, and many of them have been.
The vast majority of protestors, and all protestors who actually care about the cause, are peaceful - so peaceful, that the LAPD (who loves to break out their riot gear and get overtime pay) has said the protestors are peaceful.
But that doesn’t sell.
That doesn’t let goons exercise power.
That doesn’t let foreign governments stoke political divide in America to keep you distracted.
And it doesn’t let clickbait farms who pay their rent on your outrage, earn from virality.
So they clip together some current footage, with old footage, or they get one bad looking angle, and play it again and again,
They shout at you to be afraid, and they hope you’re too dumb to check the facts yourself.
Don’t let them profit from your fear.
Don’t let them strip away other people’s rights, based on fear.
Because you never know when the tide shifts and they’ll come for your rights.
At that time you’ll hope other people don’t succumb to fear and misinformation.
Get the facts.

@adamscochran
Here’s another great example of ragebait propaganda, and why “we see the videos with our own eyes” is wrong.
Maybe you’ve seen the 30 second video of “rioters” “burning down buildings”
Which was first pushed by Pravda, a news org owned by the Russian government.
Before that, all the sources are a longer video, but this site had an oddly cut down version.
Why is everyone using that same 30-40 second clip?
Well it turns out the full version is on Reddit (and I’ll attach here) it’s a 3:21 video where we get the context that it was a dumpster fire.
The dumpster fire started as ICE threw flashbangs at the crowd, and seems that one may have flown into the dumpster and caught the trash on fire.
The building isn’t on fire.
Protestors did not start the fire.
But that 30 second video is posted by every right wing account to sell you a narrative that “illegals are burning down California”
The location is the Los Dos Hermanos Market in Compton, on Alondra Blvd.
There is no damage to the building, and the market is actually open for business today.
It is yet another case of how people keep arguing “there are videos we see it with our own eyes” and yet they are wrong.

@adamscochran
Incase you needed more proof that this is bs.
One of the biggest videos circulating today “proving the violent unrest” is literally from 2020
[Quoted tweet]
This video is literally from 2020.
Once again showing the stupid disinformation, where these accounts post any unverified shyt in order to earn revenue share and spread hate.

@SNienow
Non-violent explosives.

@adamscochran
It’s called a firework dipshyt.
Believe it or not, hooligans setting off fire works while there are protests in a city doesn’t mean it’s a fukking insurrection.
8/21
@qdingleanon
This is what the LAPD is calling “mostly peaceful”
[Quoted tweet]
Hordes of illegal immigrants are flying Mexican flags, attacking civilians, attacking law enforcement, etc. TELL KE HOW THIS ISNT AN INSURRECTION? Bring in the military and hunt down every illegal in the city.

@adamscochran
Waving flags isn’t violent you fukkwit.
10/21
@howellsacto
LAPD doesn’t control the city of Paramount.
11/21
@adamscochran
LASD which is in charge of the Sheriffs department in Paramount already said the same thing.
LAPD is specifically commenting on the cases in LA proper.
12/21
@kotw71
Had LAPD been doing their job…
13/21
@adamscochran
They did.
They arrested people.
That just doesn’t get ragebait views on social media platforms, so dumbasses like you think they aren’t doing anything.
14/21
@GSVBemusementPk
We literally have video of them bricking windshields on moving vehicles. This means the mayor leaned on them.
15/21
@adamscochran
There is a video of one dude, throwing rocks at federal vehicles.
Who the LAPD moved in and arrested within minutes, and who had nothing to do with the thousands and thousands of protestors, across multiple precincts and cities in LA and surrounding townships.
16/21
@FXRegan
Maybe you missed the broken cement chunks being thrown at federal officers. Or the ICE agent being held hostage. LAPD is siding with the mayor.
17/21
@adamscochran
Maybe you missed that the guy who threw rocks at the Fed cars was arrested and was one dude, who doesn’t represent thousands of protestors.
And that he was arrested thanks to protestors pointing him out to the LAPD.
And that the LAPD has a loooong history of clashing with the mayors office and being too heavy-handed on protests.
18/21
@MrsSuzyQZ
Anyone with eyes can see it was anything but peaceful.
19/21
@adamscochran
No.
Anyone with eyes, can see whatever story is pushed for sake of a narrative
A great example is this claim that rioters set a building fire, which wasn’t true despite the supposed video
[Quoted tweet]

@ThePlaidCons
Time to deport LAPD Leadership.
21/21
@adamscochran
Calling for the deportation, of not only Americans, but Americans in uniform, shows just what kind of shytbag, bootlicking, traitor you are!
