I wasn't born in the US and came in a green card. I got my citizenship in 2006 with my parents. Knowing Trump's bullshyt, he could attempt to retroactively rescind my citizenship. Or ICE can just detain me too.
It's possible but that's different. You're trying to protect illegals because you're afraid of the ramifications it may have on you and your citizenship status. Retroactively removing citizenship from people who came here legally and earned it is a totally different battle and one in which would have much more nuanced support. This which we are witnessing is a way more complicated issue that is divisive amongst people
The apathy people are demonstrating with this comes from the fact the people who are being sent away were in support of it. People have gotten tired of constantly warning and trying to tell every other group about how the racism moves in America and then be asking us to stand with them and bail em out each time after they don't listen.
Folks was voting on some "this Project 2025 won't happen, I need to see it to believe it" type shyt. And lo and behold. What is happening is by no means right but a lot folks see this as a learning experience for other groups and as a wake up call that "hey maybe these white folks dont fukk with us like we think they do". We are 6 months into Trump's presidency after seeing the turn out in those voting polls in November can you really not understand why people are so apathetic right now?
