The Lakers are the GOAT Franchise 21st Century Franchise.....we've won 4 Championships in the 21st Century while playing in 6 NBA Finals, while the Spurs have won 4 Championships playing in 5 NBA Finals


This thread isnt made to beef though, it's to celebrate sustained greatness and how we BOTH have dominated the NBA, and especially the Western Conference, since Jordan retired.

It's about the Lakers vs Spurs rivalry being similar to the Lakers vs Celtics rivalry of the 1980s

True there are way too many Kobe/Laker threads. But both fan bases have been disrespectful towards each others teams on this board. Lakers still have more ships in the 21st century while 4-2 in playoff matchups this century

Im trying to discuss how the Lakers and Spurs have basically dominated the NBA since 1999, basically making everyone else in the much tougher Western Conference irrelevant over 16 seasons (being that we combined to appear in 13 NBA Finals over 16 seasons...only the Mavs 2x and Thunder 1x managed to sneak in a Finals visit) and compare it to the stranglehold the Lakers vs Celtics had in the 1980s with them combining to compete in all 10 NBA Finals from 1980-1989 winning 8 of 10 (Lakers 5-3 and Celtics 3-2 in the NBA Finals) over that period

I hear you, but you are not going to get a real discussion right after the Spurs win a ship and they are a ton of Kobe/Lakers threads plus the Lakers didn't even make the playoffs. It's good discussion, probably just the wrong time.
