Is Lebron and Wade more feared than Shaq and Kobe were?

Kareem was much older than Magic, so the shift was more natural. Shaq is only 4 years or so older than Kobe so both were in their primes at the same time really and they both wanted to be the alpha dog.

That Magic's talent was never constantly challenged like Kobe's was. People are trying hard to forget but a LOT of people were saying Kobe would be an average 2 guard without Shaq. constantly drawing double teams.

Shaq played a big role in all of that too. Shaq has always had a problem co-existing with Superstar guards, he had some sort of beef with damn near every one he played with.

Why did they break up again? :noah: If Kareem and Magic were able to handle the shift in roles, with one getting older and the other coming into his own, why couldn't they? :sadcam: 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008 would've been dark times for the league :wow:

because kobe was a jealous bytchard who was tired of ppl saying "SHAQ and the lakers" and wanted his own shine. by now he would easily have a minimum of 6 rings and shaq would've been long gone because of his age. stupidass mutant ruined everything.

and im glad he did :steviej:

I dont think anyone was saying he would be average...well any reasonable people. Cats were saying he would have the same issues his peers had in terms of having to carry the load alone and that was true. He proved himself to be better than them but he did experience the same issues after Shaq was traded.

Shaq and Kobe were both insecure girls in that situation. Who cares who is getting credit if u are putting up numbers, making max money, and winning titles every year? :what:

Where years aside from 2006 do the lakers win rings if they stay together?:childplease:

The lakers role players in 03' and 04' had more to do with their downfall then the shaq kobe beef

03 okay but :what: at 04. They had malone and payton. The problem thst year was Shaq being fat and forgoing defense and Kobe chucking. The Pistons cant beat them if those guys play to their ability.

Lol at Payton and malone. Payton was garbage that entire playoffs and got dominated by Chauncey in the finals. Kobe kept Chauncey in check in game 5 but the series was basically over at that point. Malone was on his last legs and injured. It was shaq/Kobe and no one else

A dominant Center/Power Forward will always be more feared in basketball.

not always the case but certainly true 80% of the time.

I would take a combo of Jordan/Pippen, and Lebron/Wade over Mchale and Parish, and Kareem/ Mychal Thompson or AC Green

you interepted my post wrong. I didn't mean a combo of center and power forward, I meant having either a dominant center or power forward to go along with a superstar wing player. i.e. Shaq and Kobe or Magic and Kareem.

Lol at Shaq and Kobe in that series. The key to that series was Kobe and Shaq not playing like Kobe and Shaq more so than the supporting cast not playing like a supporting cast. Kobe's chucking did not help anything. Seriously this nikka had numerous instances where he was launching fadeaway 3's over multiple nikkas for no reason. Shaq's defense or lack thereof didn't help anything. nikkas were going to the hole at will. They played one way throughout the season and the playoffs and then get to the Finals and totally melted down. Three of the first four games were totally winnable and and Kobe and Shaq at their best win at least two of those if not all three. I'm not saying the supporting cast played well, mind you. I'm saying that shyt belongs squarely on the shoulders of Shaq and Kobe.

Nah, he's right. GP was getting torched by Chauncey and Malone was hurt. GP was getting done so bad that Phil switched Kobe onto Chauncey to cool him off and when he did Rip started going off, it was quite pathetic. Kobe did chuck a bit, but I honestly think if Malone hadn't have gotten hurt we would have won that series.

Kobe had to shoot 3's "over multiple nikkaz" because anytime he Put the ball on the floor and got by Prince, the Pistons team swarmed Him with tons of help defense. So many times he said F it and kept shooting those jumpers which didnt fall as much as normal. You need to re-watch those finals

Shaq's defense was poor but they lost that series largely because they're was no other offensive help or threat against the pistons beside shaq and Kobe. In Game one aside from those 2, the lakers scored a combined 16 points(no one scored more then 5).That team was trash outisde those 2. Remember this wasnt just any normal defense, the pistons from the sheed trade on were playing arguably the best defense of any team ever.

Honestly that team overachieved, you could've made a case they should've lost to the spurs and that series against the wolves even with Sam cassell being hurt was relatively close
