The answer is no. I'll always remember LeBron for no showing when that team needed him against the Mavs. It was almost mesmerizing how he disappeared at the biggest stage.:upsetfavre:

The kobestan reasoning has been a toxic pollutant of sports discussions. It's a team sport and we actually have people accusing guys of cheating for using teammates.

People love to glorify the mano y mano bullshyt but its a team sport. Kobe always dribbled the clock down, drew a help defender, and then shot anyway. It worked maybe 25% of the time over his career and people act like he's a playoff Mariano Rivera in those situations.

If he would have kicked to a wide open Robert Sacre or Devean George in each of those situations, they would have no trouble converting > 25%. He's so predictable in those situations that he becomes a very ineffective player.

If he was a threat to pass, the defense would have been crippled and his ability to make tough shots and his fearlessness in taking them would have elevated him as a great clutch player in the stat sheet, not just the biased eye tests of the @Sccit population. Instead, he was only measurable as clutch to people who refuse to read.

:patrice: There are better names at your disposal but I see your point. Ironically his clutch profile has been boosted by instances were he missed and one of his teammates stepped up and made a shot to save his ass ie the same thing people try to downgrade Bron for when it comes to the Ray Allen shot. Kobe and in turn his stans act as if you get points for degree of difficulty. When he makes it it's ":bow:What a shot!". When he misses it's ":manny: it was tough shot." Pretty convenient when you think about it :ehh:.

So tell me more about how "literally no one cares". Tell me why people shouldn't care about a huge basketball myth being exposed. The reason that there is such a huge misconception regarding Kobe and Lebron's track record in the clutch is because stupid fukks like you would rather stick to narratives/agenda then educate yourself on the truth.
I don't care about clutch. It's some stupid shyt to try to expand on. It's a 48 min game and you care about who shoots what in the last 30 secs. Waste of time.

So you admit that your first post should've read "I don't care about clutch stats" instead of "nobody cares" huh? Ok. That still leads back to my initial point tho. If you don't care about clutch stats then why did you run in this thread to post? Do you do that offline too? Say you overhear people discussing somethin that doesn't interest you, do you butt in their discussion just to let them know that you don't care about what they're discussing?

Yes. Please revise my original jocular post to read as follows:

I do not care about clutch statistics. But I'm sure there are other people who will care and comment.

Sincerely,
Management

Yes I do it offline. It's my favorite activity.

I agree with you to a point. You got so many role players or secondary stars that have hit so many big shots over the years. However the way that you perform with the game on the line is relevant. People have just gone overboard with it.

Waaaay overboard. The same goes for the "professional" reporting of it. It's solely a glamour stat that relies on playcalling, personnel, etc. I don't give a player any credit if shoots 5-25 with 1 assist during the game and hits the game winning shot.

It is funny how we have gotten to a place where playing shytty for an entire game and then hitting a big shot is somehow >> dominating throughout the game and and not even letting it get to that point.

I don't care about clutch.
I glanced over this the first time but this is an example of how fill of shyt you are. So you don't care about a player's ability to be clutch? You don't give those who have shown the ability to excel in the clutch respect for that?

Who has made this argument bruh?
Why did you pull that argument right from your own ass then pretend as if "we" are making it? This thread has absolutely nothing to do with what you've said here.

Look through the thread. I already explained it. Why do you keep finding reasons to quote me?

And apparently what I said had nothing to do with you so what was your point in quoting me?
