Is LL Cool J the only rapper to become successful without riding another nikkas wave?

Except two of the most influential people in hiphop history (Simmons and Rubin).
They basically built the label around him.

Just cause nikkas PUT on crews like Nelly did or like DMx did doesn't mean that they didn't come up solo :what:..

If that weird ass opinion even was reasonable what about rappers like Petey Pablo, fabolous, trick daddy, xzibit, Missy Elliot and on.

You might have a point with DMX there.

Lol, YouTube and MySpace? Then Ll cool J had MTV, the source, radio and on :what:
soulja boy would of never got signed if he went to a label because his songs SUCKED. He benefitted from copying a sound that was already out (D4L) and then put a sing-a-long dance video on youtube when EVERYBODY was on youtube on a daily basis at the time and the most viewed videos would be on the front page of the site so everyday new people would see his video and he would get views..basically dude got a record deal because he was marketable not because his music was good hip-hop. Also I wouldn''t call barely going platinum on one album a success considering the amount of popularity he had.

True credential for the G.O.A.T. Came into the game solo with no crew and no affiliations making hit after hit over the years with no features on the tracks.

Every other really successful rapper had the hype of being associated with other artists
to get and maintain their buzz for their albums.

i.e.
NELLY HAD THE ST. lUNATICS

50 Cent had g-UNIT
Biggie had 2pac and junior m.a.f.i.a.
Mase had bad boy
2pac had digital underground and then death row
Master P had No Limit
Lil Wayne had cash money
Drake had Lil Wayne
Nicki Minaj had Cash money/ Young Money
Lauryn Hill had Fugees
Big Pun had Fat Joe
Wu-tang nikkas had Wu-Tang
Ludacris had DTP
Bow wow had snoop and jermaine dupri

Eminem had Dr. Dre and Snoop and Nate Dogg on MMLP
Vanilla Ice had black people in his videos
Ja Rule had murder inc.
Kanye had Rocafella
Jay Z had Biggie affiliations from the start and Rocafella and now has Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and Kanye
take nelly out the red, cause he belongs in that ll class. Saying he rode the st lunatics is like saying LL rode cut creator ,bobcat Earl etc
