Is LL Cool J the only rapper to become successful without riding another nikkas wave?

Except two of the most influential people in hiphop history (Simmons and Rubin).
They basically built the label around him.

Just cause nikkas PUT on crews like Nelly did or like DMx did doesn't mean that they didn't come up solo :what:..

If that weird ass opinion even was reasonable what about rappers like Petey Pablo, fabolous, trick daddy, xzibit, Missy Elliot and on.

Dumb thread. Nelly, Luda and 50 were the leaders of their crew. 2pac outshined Digital Underground since his second album and was famous before Death Row as a multi platinum artist and actor. Ja Rule was the main one in his crew, but you're wrong in the sense that his intro to the mainstream was a Jay-Z song.

Do your research breh... Can I Get A... was originally Rule's record but him and Irv gave it to Jigga.

I know this, but no one knew until after the fact. No one knew who Ja Rule was outside of NY until that video dropped. It wasn't even until Ja became established when I noticed he was in DMX's "How it's Goin Down" video.

Lol @ Nas having Murder Inc, at least say Large Pro

:dead: Nelly had the Lunatics

If you're gonna count labels against other rappers then u have to count Def Jm against LL. Or IMO you calf say because he was with Russell and everyone knew Russel was Run's brother then LL kind of rode Run DMCs wave, not to mention he was in Krush Groove playing himself. They're stronger than some
Of the ties you have up there
:ehh:
