@Itsyoung comment real left me puzzled :dwillhuh:

He basically said console owners love to brag about how pc players aren't social. How many times are you really playing on the couch with your friends. He was saying that everyone plays online with their friends. So pc owners are just as social.

I know folks play with the homies online but yall don't rock with the sticks in person.

I see my folks at least once a month and we game.

Is this not normal?

During big events like a mayweather fight or a Ufc match. The sticks are picked up immediately afterwards.

We even got our systems day one together :manny:

Some of my homies are married too. Maybe this isn't normal for.working adults with a family :ld:

But everyone has known each other since grade school.

I remember after we picked up the 4. Everyone went to one of the homies cribs. One nikka got beat by 40 points. nikka said he was the neighborhood champ :mjlol:

My man mike beat Brian so bad my goodness it was sad.

Yesterday we go together for my homies performance.

So before the show nikkas picked up the sticks.

If it ain't sports or a fighting game then yeah it is dead...
Devs don't wanna compromise those graphics to get it to display on two or more screens, so they said fukk it. I really hated this trend before but now I've accepted that it won't likely change...

Pretty much. If it's not sports or fighters, I don't see people fukking with it. Maybe a game like Halo with your lil cousin or some shyt, but if they lil enough you just play and give them a controller so they think they playing. Guest accounts on shooters is the only other thing I can think of.

I want more co-op of all varieties, online and local. Hell, I'd even like fighters to adopt some co-op/team vs. shyts. I play locally with my homie out here (haven't befriended too many peeps since moving away from home) like 1nce a month at least and one other homie will join us on occasion, like you said during UFC events when we watch together, we'll get some games in either before and/or afterwards. I also play occasionally locally with my niece that lives with me and on back in the day and in rare occasions, the wife will join us as well. We'll play fighters, platformers, Hot Shots Golf and brawlers like Devil's Crown.

I honestly wish there were more brawlers and co-op adventure games like Outland and space shooters that were local and online co-op. I hate that so many games will do one, but not the other. Like, it was retardedly disappointing that both Rayman Origins and Legends had 4-player local only MP. I think that game may have gotten a lil more fanfare with online co-op as well (probably not a crazy amount more, but a lil bit at least). I'd also like full fledge co-op story modes in games rather than just lil segments that they typically have. Another example, I'd love a game like the new Arkham Batman game to be able to be played all the way thru with co-op as a 2nd character plays one of the Robins or Batgirl or something. An X-men/Avengers game of this caliber with real co-op story modes also would be dope, once again, online AND locally (the co-ops can be different events based on which co-op mode it is even). I can already think of scenarios where it can be done w/o the need of split screen all like that within a game like Arkham where, while it'll obviously be a bit smaller than the main game, but they could still fully flesh out the co-op mode to where it's like a very worthwhile add-on edition to the game (and make them replete with trophies, unlockables and story enriching set-pieces comparable to the SP parts like this as well).

It could very well be dead or dying, but I definitely don't wish it to be that way.

Actually, local co-op has seen a resurgence lately. Maybe dudes who post here aren't into it, but several games have come out relatively recently that focus on local co-op.

Word? Let us know

My lil cousin stays w me sometimes and he's not really into sports. He'll play FIFA, UFC but thats about it. He'll watch me play something non sports then we pass sticks.

There's no local co op shooters that I know of. It'd be nice to have for when you're tryna kill time w somebody.

Drop some names, breh.
Word? Let us know

These are local multiplayer games as opposed to just co-op games

Check out these sites for info about local multiplayer games:

http://store.steampowered.com/tag/en/Local Co-Op/
http://www.co-optimus.com/

Due to the fact that fighting games need quick reactions, a lot of fighting game fans prefer to play face to face. See if there is a fighting games community in your area. Here is the Coli fighting games thread: http://www.thecoli.com/threads/official-fgc-thread-streams-pop-offs-fukkery.230503/

If you have a 3DS or a Vita, most multiplayer games have an ad-hoc multiplayer option in addition to an online option. Some games only need one person to have a copy of the game.

Nintendo doesn't make online gaming a priority over local, so Wii U owners have lots of local games to play:

Super Mario 3D World - http://www.thecoli.com/threads/super-mario-3d-world.152023/
Rayman Legends
Mario Kart 8 - http://www.thecoli.com/threads/mario-kart-8.167376/
Pikmin 3
New Super Mario Bros. U
New Super Luigi U
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - http://www.thecoli.com/threads/donkey-kong-country-tropical-freeze.152957/
The Wonderful 101 - http://www.thecoli.com/threads/the-wonderful-101.141630/
Nintendo Land
Sonic: Lost World - http://www.thecoli.com/threads/sonic-lost-world-wii-u-3ds.120143/

Upcoming Wii U games:

Hyrule Warriors - http://www.thecoli.com/threads/hyrule-warriors.221764/
Bayonetta 2 - http://www.thecoli.com/threads/bayonetta-and-bayonetta-2-wii-u.140911/
Super Smash Bros. - http://www.thecoli.com/threads/super-smash-bros-wii-u-3ds.121222/

Another good thing about the Wii U is that it is compatible with Wii controllers, so if you own a Wii, you already have extra controllers for other people.

This next list of games are PC games, although a lot of them have been released for other platforms. A good thing is you don't need a gaming PC to play a lot of these games, which means that if you have a relatively modern laptop with a HDMI out, you can play these games on a TV which solves the "huddling around a computer screen" problem.

Awesomenauts
Battleblock Theater
Castle Crashers
Hidden in Plain Sight
Jamestown
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
Monaco
Portal 2
Samurai Gunn
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
Sonic Adventure 2
Spelunky (Extremely fun in co-op.)
Towerfall Ascension (Also very fun) - http://www.thecoli.com/threads/towerfall-ascension-linux-windows-mac-ps4-ouya.196529/
Trine
Trine 2
Many more that I can't think of off the top of my head

Depends on the game. I still play Gears 3 and Super Smash Melee in person with the homies. Fifa sometimes, and definitely MVC3, But having a full screen is a beautiful luxury to have.
