lifes about looking after you and yours.
get as much money from middle class white folks as you can.
if you gotta sell lies then do it, none of these rap dudes fool me as I know they are out here hustling.
If you knew that these dudes are out here hustling, rappers being frauds wouldn't shock you in the slightest.
Oh totally, I'm not questioning his motivation at all. This is a capitalist society, dudes got to make money and most rappers lie and exaggerate, that's obvious. You gotta do what you gotta do
I really just seems like you're thinking about the shyt way too hard...especially seeing how in his interviews and in his music he makes it clear he's not a street cat, the track in question is not a first person account.
It's like what are you really trying to debate or read into...nikkas really get perplexed by dude because of his racial make up it seems.
Yeah I do tend to overthink shyt sometimes, but here it's less about trying to act tough (since this dude doesn't) and more about trying to be some kind of poet visionary like Kendrick or Nas. That has an effect on the culture when these suburban kids try to sell the guy as the GOAT, which is a position he's clearly going for, when there's other artists out there who've been through more and deserve it much more.
The dude's talented, but like that other poster said, he doesn't come across as being sincere. And at the end of the day I'm not losing sleep over that, I just like to talk Hip-Hop - sometimes it's about dope music, sometimes it's discussing authenticity. It's barbershop talk, just in another medium.
I know Visionary Music Group was buying beaucoup youtube views some years back...I was posting about it all day on facebook asking people in MD "who knows this nikka"...and then a homie of mine hit me up and told me to stop. Get this young plant out of here when there are thousands of kids out there with more talent that deserve the shine. fukk Goldlink, too.
Yeah this is the thing - he seems like a normal and slightly troubled kid who got scooped up by his management and re-molded to fit the lane they put him in. And I don't have a problem with hungry kids getting money, but as someone who knows loads of rappers trying to feed their families and get out of the trap, there's plenty of kids out there who are much hungrier.
