Man what? I don’t view him as a bust. My expectations of him weren’t that high either I took a loss on a lot of players on that draft. But he wasn’t one of them.

I’ll admit to Ls on Markelle, Jackson, Smith Jr, monk, Harry Giles I thought all of these dudes would be better than they are.

I was wrong about Justin Patton I thought he would be a player and I don’t even think he’s played.

12/7 on bad efficiency and 3 turnovers a game

If this was anyone else in the league, it’d be obvious.

dude’s a bust.

Im just not going to call him a bust yet. He’s clearly underperformed however. I can agree with that. He was severely over drafted also.

Not a bust... if you redid his draft there's maybe 5-6 players you'd take over him definitively ... If you're still good enough to go top 6-7 in your draft you're not a bust.. Fultz wouldn't even likely go 1st round...thats a bust

Dude has improved year after year on his shot and his body...if that continues he should be fine.. You can look at Mike Conn Jr's trajectory and see some similar early career struggles :francis:

But ultimately you have "ball family haters" that are hellbent on being vindicated for their early hostility so they'll claim the sky is falling whenever possible..the same will happen with his brother ...it is what it is at this point :yeshrug:

He wouldn't go top ten in a re-draft.

Tatum, Mitchell, Bam, Collins, Fox, Kuzma, Allen, OG, Markkanen, Isaac and Derrick White all getting picked before Ball.

Would definitively get drafted over Lonzo...everbody else is pretty much a reach :francis:

Kuzma is 2 years older than him is just as streaky a 3 point shooter and plays 0 defense what has he improved on in 3 years?... I doubt it

Derrick White is 3 years older than him granted more efficient but not as good of a passer or rebounder at his position.. Some would take him over Lonzo but I said "definitively".. On that note I doubt it

Markkanen looked terrible all season and has actually regressed since last year... Long term looks like a solid one dimensional stretch 4 with shakey defense but certainly doesn't appear to be a cornerstone type player that I would definitively see being redrafted over Lonzo

Jarrett Allen was getting abused so badly in the playoffs last year he had to be benched...in a league that's moving towards prioritizing being multi-faceted a frail rim running big wouldn't get drafted over a guard that is shooting 38% from 3 on 6 attempts per game...but if you prefer his game that's a preference pick to me

Issac is still very limited offensively... Still trying to figure out his shot still trying to figure out how to get his FT attempts up and create off the dribble especially if he's going to be a "slashing" option..

Like I said he'd still be one of the top handful of guys taken in his draft...thats not a bust just because there were players drafted after him that are currently better.. to pretend that there's no hope in a 22 year old player continuing to get better and surpassing some of these names is kind of silly we've already seen him elevate his jumper and his body makeup which shows he has the work ethic/dedication to grow professionally and we've certainty seen players settle into their primes at that position during their mid 20's...like I said Ball has had his irrational detractors from the beginning..threads like this only highlights that point:yeshrug:

No.

He's too elite at too many things to be a bust.

court vision
defense
rebounding

He's kind of like Rondo in the sense that he's terrible at shooting the ball, but does a lot of other stuff well.

Lonzo could easily be the type of point guard in the NBA to average 12pts, 10rebs, 11ast.

Anybody with that type of production potential at 22 is not a bust.

fukking Anthony Bennet is a bust.
Larue Martin & Michael Olowokandi are busts.
Tyrus Thomas is a bust.

Lonzo was just overrated by a lot of us who wanted BBB to do well because we hate CACs exploiting young Black people:yeshrug:

He’s not a bust but he hasn’t performed to the expectations of the number 2 pick.
