Because half the idea of a classic is how something ages. Time changes things, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. Some albums were praised highly when they dropped and have aged poorly, and others have gotten better with time. Lord Willin is one that's gotten better with time.

What impact?

The impact of the “grindin” beat being played on 97.2% of school lunch tables in America lol. I remember the singles other singles being pretty hot too.

I think it kind of faded in 03, but LW had 2002 on lock for a hot minute. The throwback jersey culture was at its peak, street basketball mesh well with the lead single, shytty freestyling got even more popular in school, being somewhere any hearing any random part of the album playing out of cars.

Maybe it was all the cultural moments adding up and Lord Wiling lining up with all that, but it certainly felt special when it dropped and people realized grindin’ wasn’t the only good song.
