I'm a Norcal native, but whenever I head to Socal I always have more fun when I go to the San Diego area *shrug*

LA is a headache.

I heard that the place to be
unless you make serious money you will be no where near the hot spots. thats the problem with these cities because in those palm tree ridden streets and sunny skies money matters. if your in LA,Miami or San Deigo and are not wearing top end clothing driving a car worth more than 80k you will lose in every thing and thats a fact. these cities are filled with the most competition and the wealthiest of men with their choice of the pickings so if your some average dude dont think your going to a city like this and living it up thats just not gonna happen. unless your idea of living it up and fun in is actually living an hour from the city or more depending on traffic and only visiting the cool spots once a week to window shop that is

what citiies aren't overrated is the question?

miami isn't overrated just take it in doses i count the grove/ ft. lauderdale/hollywood as my miami experience ....so it doesn't have to be touristy and high end clubs

ny is also cool if you know people there there are always cool/new things to do...

When i say Miami i pretty much include the entire SOuth Florida area from South Kendall and Perrine all the way to West Palm. Heck i might fukk around and include Key West in the equation.

Same Way New Yorkers include ManHattan (sp), Long Island and all the other cities surrounding it.

IMO it all depends on what you are looking for. Not every city is for every one.

  • I get the NY flair and attraction but i couldnt see myself living there. Too crowded for me. So many people in so little space. I'd suffocate.
  • I love Miami but at the same time having lived there i cant see myself going back sometimes unless a great opportunity presented itself.
  • Atlanta is underrated in some aspects but highly overrated in many others
  • I love London and it reminds me a lot of New York butcost of living is a bytch
  • Paris though, i have a soft spot for. i love that city and the way it's soooo.. how do you say... carefree

If you're expecting a choclate city, its overrated. If you're expecting to make friends from every possible nationality on the planet, its an underrated city.

I'm in LA and this is bullshyt. Yes you have the wealthy and the things that encompass their lives- LA is glossy and rich but on the flip side its also poor and blue collar as fukk. You just have to get in where you fit in. If you wanna be the jet setter then have dough and get in that crowd/world. If you're blue collar with a nine to five you can still eat too.. we got that world out here too. Once you're out of the Hollywood/Beverly Hills/West Side/Beach City Areas LA is blue collar to the core. The 1% of people holding all the dough applies to be cities as well.

Is thr traffic REALLY that bad? Is it due to lack of freeways or overpopulation?

that's nonsense. I push a honda accord, don't dress fancy, and live in a 1 bedroom apartment yet I'm pulling women all of the time. I guess it helps that I'm tall but still, as long as you can support your self, you can easily live a comfortable life.

Public transportation is terrible out here. Also there is little bike lanes. The city is really large as well, so you can't walk most places. Basically living out here w/o a car is impossible. Where as in NY, a lot of people just NEVER drive their whole life. You tell someone you don't have a car out here, they'll look at you like :merchant:

Besides that (and it being expensive, but that's every big city) this is a great place to be. Women, weed and weather as they say.

:heh: manhattan is new york city. and no new yorkers include long island
nyc is big as fck, ppl who havent been there or have only been to manhattan assume the entire city is just like midtown.
