He played a lot better? Luck played like a rookie as did Mettenberger. everyone knows that Colts team was good it just didn't have Peyton so they tanked. Gave 0 effort most games.
atts per game-Luck:39 Mettenburger:29
completion %- Luck:54% Mettenburger-59%
yds per game-Luck:273 Mettenburger-201
TDs per game-Luck:1.4 Mettenburger-1.3
Ints per game-Luck:1.1 Mettenburger-1.1

But one gets another year while another gets the boot cause he wasn't a top pick. It's awful logic.

Luck was significantly better in every advanced statistical category including DVOA, VOA, DYAR and QBR. So yeah, for reasons other than being a first round pick Luck was going to continue to start. Mettenberger was drafted in the 6th round for a reason. Find me a 6th round QB over the last 20 years you want as your long term starter...especially one who sucked as bad as Mettenberger did last year.

We can use Roethlisberger, Ryan, Cam or Flacco too. There have been plenty of rookie QB's who haven't "played like rookies"
Rothlisberger through the ball Less than 20 times a game his rookie season.

And has been really good since.
He was on a stacked team and the most stable organization in sports. He was a below .500 qb when asked to toss the ball more than 25 times per game until a few seasons ago.

He was also a first round pick for a reason. The Steelers continue to pay him as well.

I only seen one full Mettenberger game, vs NYG and he didn't look that good.

NOW...understanding context and the fact that he was down big, early with a shytty team it is hard for me to use that against him....in fact, most of the game Tenn played (and I'm going off recollection), he was down and his team was pretty awful...I don't think stats tell the complete story when you factor that stuff in. He played the way I would expect a rookie to play under those circumstances.

Do I think Mariotta will be better? That depends on the team and system around him but I can't kill Mettenberger based on stats alone, it's not fair.

I DO think asking for a trade is some fukkboi shyt though....come out and win the job dude.

He can't win the job they picked Mariota 2nd overall :what:
It's Mariota's job Mettenberger has no future there, B

What did Mettenberger show last year? What was I missing? Football outsiders helps bring context to things and allows you to judge individual players on an even playing field. He was so in the red last year the chances of him getting to be a quality starter is minimal at best.

So you're just going to ignore the per game stats I posted side by side where Luck and Mett were just about equal in every category and still say one Sucked while the other played great? All because one was drafted one overall and the other was 6th round pick. You're a narrative ass nikka ain't you? You're illogical.
