The core message was correct: kids are too caught up in the social merit system at a younger age aka being "cool" that they're fast forwarding through childhood. Having jaded 8 year olds is truly nasty work.

We all went through the cool phase, it's universal but we went through it later. Thanks to the prevalence of the internet, kids are pushed on the stage before they have a chance to be kids.
