Same could be said about the kids RDC interacted with

Does this explain the whole Gen Z stare thing?I know most posters here are pushing 50 so let me break it down for you uncs:
A child that has been born in the last 15 years has this:

As one of their earliest memories. They have grown up seeing adults taking photos and videos of them and knowing that they dont have control over their own image. They do not know a world where they can exist without the possibility of one or more people recording them at any time without their consent.
They have also grown up seeing other people getting turned into content against their will. They understand it is not something they can fight, and in fact getting angry when someone is recording you makes that person even HAPPIER to record you. Your anger is content too.
So they realized its best to just be nonchalant at all times. Its best to preserve your dignity by having maximum aura or by making yourself so cold and unremarkable that its not fun to record you. You arent giving an interesting reaction, you cannot be turned into interesting content OR you are so cool that the only content they can turn you into is content that makes you look cool because you're flexing in a cold way. Obvious sincerity is ridiculed. High energy excitement(unless in a group with the same enery) is ridiculed. Like that that 6 7 kid, you get turned into a joke with kids and grown adults mocking your facial expression and excitement for views.
reminds me of this![]()
Most of the gen z stare stuff ive seen is from people expecting people working in customer service jobs they hate not being appropriately excited to be there.Does this explain the whole Gen Z stare thing?
I always saw it as a mixture of overprescribed medication, brainrot and social apathy
But your post makes sense that they see themselves as "content" in somebody else story so they shut down whenever they aren't driving it. The whole effort/caring is cringe thing
Never thought of it that way, but this makes a lot of senseI know most posters here are pushing 50 so let me break it down for you uncs:

Wasted all that time with this soliloquy just to confirm Mark was right and I ain't nowhere near 50. A 5 year old can explain the dynamics of joy so the fact that kids and young adults are unable to process it for fear of losing face is a societal problem.I know most posters here are pushing 50 so let me break it down for you uncs:
