I'll get flack for this but most definitely play it! It's a great game, the gameplay imo is the best of the series, I hated the way the sidequest worked and the ending was kind of meh but the build up was great.
The whole universe at war to me was a great set up and you getting to speak with all the people you met through the games was awesome.
The shooting controls are really tight which makes combat one of the funner things about the game.
Personally it's my Game of the Generation (bite me haters), and the multiplayer is top ranked spent over 300 hours in that bad boy.
Bottom line:
As a fan of the series you owe it to yourself to play through it, it's a ton of fun and the extended cut pretty much makes the ending acceptable.

Play it !
It's a great game barring the final two or three hours
which feel rushed.
Lots of stories get wrapped up so it's worth that alone.
The ending still sucks even after the update but hey :yeshrug:
still a fantastic title.

Def play it. Its prob the most emotional out of all the mass effects. The gameplay mechanics is prob the best of the series. I did wish they kept that heavy weapon option from part 2(which i thought was great in terms of strategy and using resources).
The parts i disliked. I hate when they started doing swarms of enemies. It gets annoying shooting multiple enemies in one location untill u reach a certain time/kill number.
- the story kinda ruins the idea that the decisions u made during the first 2 games were meaningfull
- in fact none of the decisions u make during the game have any impact for the final outcome.
- and the ending basically leaves u with 3 dumbass options, and a dumbass ending.

Its a game with great peaks, but really bad negatives. Just my opinion

Everyone who says the ending ruined Mass Effect for them is a fakkit.
You're telling me, a 4 minute cutscene not living up to your expectations ruined 120+ hours of previously fantastic gameplay? :comeon:
That's fakkit shyt.
ME3 is the shyt. It did feel rushed at parts, but the action is easily the best of the 3 games.

Normally, no it wouldn't affect anything. And you seem to be missing the point.

It not living up to expectations has nothing to do with anything.

The entire premise of the series is choices that carry over in the franchise....and every single choice you've made over the course of those 120+ hours is rendered moot in the span of 5 minutes, courtesy of a character that didn't even exist in the series until that final 5 minutes....I can't even find a gif or smilie to express how :stopitslime:that is, or another gif/smilie to express how :what: I am at you being ok with it.

Unless you played the series after the fact, with no expectations. I was watching Gametrailers videos waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in '05, I knew what the fukk the game was supposed to be, vs the final product they delivered. And I ignored 90% of that, until that horrifically wack ending.

I'm not missing the point at all.

The game was fun as shyt, even though those choices didn't mean anything in the end.

I don't play games for the ending, I play for the journey.

The journey kicked ass.

As far as the question, yeah play it. The game is great until the last 5-10 minutes. And the multi-player is bananas. I haven't played it in a while but I had basically all the best gear/characters maxed out.

When did you start playing the series? Just curious.

And the entire series is built on the one thing they didn't deliver on. If you don't mind that :manny: but it doesn't make much sense to me....and definitely not to the point of dissing people that just expected what was advertised.
