“I’m in control of the first drink…”

he has a choice…end of discussion…and this is coming from someone who drank heavily and understands that once you start feeling good after that first one then it snowballs…fact of the matter is knowing that, you can choose not to have that drink at all…the choice is there…it’s just that some folks say “fukk it” cuz they crave that feeling/escape whatever it is per individual

Alcoholism is an issue that is hard to deal with. I'm an alcoholic, and was sober for 5 years. I started drinking again, but only on the weekends and never more than 4 drinks a day. I know this is gonna sound alcoholic-ish, but I'm a better, more social person when I drink. I shut myself off for 5 years. I didn't see anyone. No girls, no friends. Nothing. It was a terrible existence. Now that I started drinking again, I'm seeing girls and hanging out with people again. You just gotta moderate that shyt, but it is hard for an alcoholic. You always want more. I want more than 4 beers after the last beer is gone, but I cut myself off. I know people are gonna say, nah, you'll just slip back to drinking all day. I hope not, but we'll see. It's all about moderation. Maybe I'll be dead in a year. My health is poor, and I keep thinking I'll be dead soon, so why not enjoy life? Being completely sober sucks. It killed my life.

Damn breh…hope things can take a turn on your life where you don’t need alcohol to feel alive :wow:

alcohol really is something else. some addictions allow some people to access an effortless state of being (or a perception of it). "the place" that buddhists talk about.

Thanks, breh

It's doubtful, but I guess you never know. My sister said to try ketamine (for therapeutic reasons), and I might give it a go. Also, maybe this Hinge girl I'm seeing will lead to something, though I think she's friend-zoning me. Well, there's plenty of fish in the sea. :manny:
