Is MBDTF really a classic album?

A few years ago, I remember buying into the media hype and bought MBDTF from iTunes. Talk about one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I tried to force myself to like but it was such a snoozer, the production value was embarrassingly low.

The only songs I liked were Monster (Nicki's part only) and Runaway. It became obvious to me that the album was getting a push primarily because kanye was against gangsta rap. ...

So The Coli, in your opinion, was mbdtf a classic album or just some bullshyt media push/fabrication?

Yeah, I have it at around 2.5 mics out of 5.

it will be remembered as a classic with GKMC

but I do believe that gkmc is the only hip hop album that deserves that perfect score.

It's extremely overproduced, there's way too much going on on the songs.

Ye in general is overrated as fukk, but I'm chillin. No idea how anyone can consider him a top ___ rapper when he doesn't write all of his own lyrics and he gets outshined on every album

I'd probably go even lower than a 5, but yeah, shyt is just not good to me. At all. I've called it one of, if not THE most overrated CD in HIp-Hop history many times.

I tried to listen to it the other night, through headphones, and it may be the absolute worst mastered CD my ears have ever had the misfortune of hearing. It's damn near impossible to get all the way through the CD. It's literally a chore to go front to back. The fact that so many ppl think this is a classic is mind boggling. But to each his own I guess.

Standards got so low, that any half decent projects gets the classic tag.

Honestly I found most of the album, just not that interesting, musically or vocally.

forget all the critical acclaim, this album is magical.
from dark fantasy to lost in the world, this is one of the best mainstream rap albums ever.
