Is Menace II Society in your top 10 of your favorite movies of all time?

The movie has to be one of the most realistic depictions of the hood I've ever seen. It still holds up really well after twenty years too.

Nah, but the movie does have a special place somewhere for me. First time I've seen it was in Middle School where a teacher used the film for moral purposes (Brooklyn schools lol) and to deter kids from turning to the street life. Most of the class was like but the whole damn movie had me

What's a better hood movie?

id put Boyz N Da Hood and Fresh above it. i have a soft spot in my heart for Black N White but i dont know if id really consider it a "hood" movie. I think City of God is better, hmmm that may be it. I do think menace is better than juice, south central, baby boy, dead presidents, belly, paid in full, etc tho

City of God is the only one I'd put over it.

I think it's significantly better than Boyz and Fresh. Dead Presidents is up there, tho.
