When it first came out I thought it was dope from beginning to end. I thought Meth has had a very successful career overall. Memorable songs/albums and was able to get some acting gigs.
Is Method Man's career a disappointment or underrated?

shyt, Tical is just as good as Reasonable doubt....
Thing with Meth is he has a sick voice/flow and has rhymes for days but he never had the knack for crafting complete songs and albums the way Ghost, Rae and GZA do. I always like Meth a lot better on Wu albums and guest spots than I did as a solo artist. Same goes for Deck.

meth had a nice run making top mcmoney from 93-00. blackout was successful. how high turned into a cult classic. hes one of the best live mcs there is, his show is incredible;especially wioth red/ hes the main attractiomn to wu tang. he has a movie career now. his wprst a;lbum was tical 0 which was handled by bad boy tyo make meth commercial, 421 was better, meth lab/crystal meth is coming.
meth is criminally underrated. tical is a classic.

lesser hip hop albums get classic credit over tical only because wu tang was lihght years ahead of everyone else and managed to drop classics every quater.
I see this all the time on this board..but I don't see how Red out shined him..Just off the top of my head, Da Rockwilder, You, Blackout, Run 4 Cover Meth was spittin' the hottest fiyah.
Give me some songs where Red was bodying Meth.

Exactly. Tical is a good album and I enjoy it but it's not classic at all. Every good album from the 90s isn't a classic

it's actually both because meth at the start of his career had it just about all but then once his popularity waned he went almost unnoticed except by wu fans even though he was consistently improvin' lyrically as an mc (altho production wise, tical the prequel was wack with only like a very few exception; "the afterparty" with ghost was my shyt). but he's been one of the most consistent emcees on a skills level, not just out of the wu but period even when his and wu's popularity wasn't and or hasn't been at it's most high outside of wu fans

tical is a classic. i don't care what anyone says these days but this shyt is for them rza beats alone. not that meth won't bringin' it but he only got better lyrically with time.
It's been a minute since I heard the album in full, but even off your list I thought Red outshined Meth easily on Blackout song and Da Rockwilder. I just remember rewinding Red's verses way more often than Method's.
clientele is a universal classic...but was ironman
Ironman classic status is debatable. It got really great reviews when it dropped but Clientele is Ghost's most famous album. Both are way better than Tical
