When did Trout win a triple crown...

And for those who are saying Trout is the best player in baseball...why?

MIggy has out hit him every year...Trout obviously smokes him in stolen bases...defense...eh...I'd need proof that Trout is actually saving runs out there...i need some sort of tangible proof where guys won't go from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd because of Trout's arm...otherwise...not really going to put to much stock in it...He's no Cespedes where players rarely ever try to go from 2nd to 3rd or 3rd home on him...

Trout is another one of the guys that no one can ever explain to me why he is considered the best player in baseball...

Because he hit's for average...Miggy hits for a higher average year in and year out

Because he hit's for power...Miggy hits for more homeruns year in and year out

Because he drives in runs...Miggy drives in more

Because he scores runs...20 more than Miggy last year...which is pretty small seeing as how Trout is supposed to be great on the base path's and MIggy is probably bottom 10 slowest player in the league...

Because he steals bases...no argument their Trout wins easily...

Defense...like I said I'm not buying Trout as anything more than slightly above average...and Miggy has been so good at the plate the last 3 years that it more than makes up for his bad defense at 3rd...and really it wasn't even THAT bad...

1) Hes never won a triple crown, who cares?

2) We say he's the best player because he is and it's not close. He's a top 2-3 hitter, one of the best base runners, one of the best defensive players in the game

3) Miggy barely out hits him, it's actually really close. And you've got to be trolling to even question the defensive gap between the two players

y'all n*ggas is seriously gonna shrug off the triple crown? he's 1 of 15 players to do that in 130+ years of pro baseball... there have been more perfect games (23) thrown than triple crown winners (15)... think about that for a second.

baseball is a sport that is completely 100% romanticized by it's stats... in other words stats/records are EVERYTHING in baseball.. the triple crown is one of the most hollowed accomplishments in mlb easily

miggy was the first one to do that since 1967..... 1967

all this sh*t said... i'm a diehard OAKLAND A's fan.... i should be the 1st in line to hate on this n*gga but it's impossible.

I'm not even gonna waste a neg on this. Far as the debate, I'm bias towards Cabrera but I'll admit trout is more complete five tool. Give him a few years to develop some leadership and improve his game and he'll be leading them to a few pennants. He only 22 right? If he stays healthy, he'll be something special.

that won't happen... the angels are gonna be bogged the fukk down in spending in trouts biggest years... you think pujols and hamilton is gonna be able to keep up their production when they in their late 30's? prolly not. and their pitching is atrocious.

trout is going to NY the first chance he gets... watch. n*gga is from NJ

yeah that pujols contract was ridiculous for his age. That team has so much talent, if they don't do anything, it'll be a waste. If they're smart, they'll try and keep trout. He can be their franchise player. Or atleast trade him if he plans on leaving.

Nobody said winning the triple crown isn't impressive but we have advanced a LOT in what we know over the years. Triple Crown is not an indicator of who's the better player or even hitter. We have learned there are way better stats to use to determine how valuable a player is. And everything we learn from Triple Crown Stats there are better stats out there to tell us who is better at what. Batting average is trumped by OBP, RBIs are a product of your team, so there's other stats we use to determine how many runs players are responsible for that they can control, Homeruns are trumped by ISO power numbers, and the list goes on. Triple Crown Numbers were the most recognized stats because back then, most people weren't aware of the more advanced metrics. Back in the day a pitcher winning 20 games meant a lot, now people realize the amount of wins a pitcher has is extremely dependent on their offense. Now we have FIP, XFIP, K:BB rate, HR:Inn etc...to let us know which pitchers are best at what they can control themselves. Most people will say Felix Hernandez is the second best pitcher in baseball and has only one 15 games in a season once in his 9 year career.

I'm saying...I don't see how anyone can say the Triple Crown is not one of the hardest things to do in sports...

That means that when Miggy had to hit for average...he did it better than anyone in baseball...when he had to hit for power...he did it better than anyone in baseball...when he had to hit for runs...he did it better than anyone in baseball...and he did it for an entire baseball seasons...that is being the best outright hitter across the board for 150 odd games in a row...

Then turned right around and damn near did it again...
