Whatever letter you want to list his celebrity as, one thing is for certain is Nas is cashing A list celebrity endorsement deal checks, lives in a A list celebrity neighborhood, gets chauffeur like a A list celebrity whereever he goes, eats at A list celebrity restaurants and is personally invited to A list celebrity events. So in reality Nas' life is truly "A List."Nas aint had a hit in 13 years and somehow he's an A-List Celebrity.

Fwiw, when I think of A list I think of actors and actresses who get 30 million a movie and only the biggest pop stars in music. So despite bring my favorite rapper I don't think he's A list.

And yes making hits greatly expands an artists popularity. Are you claiming it doesn't? Because I'm pretty sure that's a big reason why artists like Eminem, Ksnye West, Jay-Z, Drake etc are more popular than Nas.
Nas has indeed been around a long time, that's good for him and a great accomplishment, but what does that have to do with being an A-List rapper? E-40 has been around forever and a day too and has endorsements as well as business ventures outside of music just like Nas....Not A-List. I just dont think Nas transcends hip-hop like that. If I was to ask someone who doesn't listen to rap who those artists I just mentioned are I bet they would know who it is. I just dont think Nas is in that category. If you fukk with his music, that fine...I like Nas too.

It depends on the person and their own desires too, Daniel Day Lewis does a film and then disappears for a few years to finance his lifestyle and stay away from the public eye. Dude was a shoe maker apprentice in Italy for a few years between moviespoint being Nas doesn't seem like the kind of person who seeks validation from the spotlight, he's just happy being himself

When you're on massive billboard posters in times square like Nas is and on commercials round the clock for Hennesy and you have a Harvard scholarship in your name, you kinda do. Not to the extent of the other artists but fairly fringe.
I would say he's a household and mainstream name in terms of if you have a credible talk of Hip Hop and then his name gets brought up even with suburb people who like to consume a lot of Hip Hop. Kinda like how the Wu Tang brand was. If this was Rock he wouldnt be Nirvana or Guns N Roses but the Pixies or Rush. Not uber mainstream but known enough beyond your genre.
I think its helped tremendously that guys like Cole, Kendrick, Drake etc mention him along with the fact that everyone always has a top 5 list and his name brought up. Thats probably why he gets talked up more despite not having a pop single chart for as long as it has.
