you gave "come get me" a 6 and "you owe me a 7??? boy what the fukk are you smoking???

You owe me is a great song, Jay z is allowed to make that song but Nas isn’t? Nikkas are:dame: when it comes to Nas one of the only top rappers who ain’t allowed to make light hearted songs for the females.

I just don't like the album as a body of work

It had a cpl solid songs on there

And as much hate as You Owe Me gets, it got crazy spins in Philly when it was out in Spring 2000

yo, I'm not from Brooklyn. I'm not involved in this silly Jay Z vs Nas bullshyt you mfers have devoted 20+ years of your life to. I haven't even listened to Jay'z music like that since Blueprint. When I say something Nas groupies don't like it's "you're a Jay Z fan", When I say shyt Jay groupies don't like, it's "you're a Nas fan". Cut this young shyt out and bring something to a debate when someone criticizes your favorite rapper. I said absolutely nothing about Jay Z in this thread so I don't know how or WHY you brought him up as a response to my post of not liking "you owe me". What makes you think I listen to the songs like " i'm a hustla"? Do I give off that vibe?

SINY!!
I thought lyrically it was on point and as good as anything else he’s done from that standpoint.

I can see where some people said it sounded “lifeless”. A few of the beats did sound that way. To technical, no feeling, mechanical, lacking emotion etc. Considering that Dame Grease was behind a lot of the albums production, I’m even more disappointed from that aspect. Grease has a way of invoking certain feelings from his production and it just fell flat here.

Does it really matter? Nas was held down by the industry and the politics of the time. We all have heard all the classic songs he made during that time. All the unreleased songs and the lost double album. Why the fukk wasn't Amongst Kings on Nastradamas? Politics

Actually ran it back the whole way through today brehs. Weirdest and most frustrating Nas album from a fan perspective.

The endless debates we been having about Nas legacy and catalog come back to this album. The intended version of I Am would have deaded that entire conversation. And as a fan it don't really matter because we eventually heard all the tracks but casuals don't know the backstory. And I still wanna hear high quality versions of the shyt that still unreleased

There's half a dope album here. The other half some of the worst, laziest shyt Nas every did. That's really it. A rush job to appease the label. That's an old ass story in the music industry, but this version of the story get way more attention than most
