the thing is teams are no longer tied to enormous amount of money like say the rams are to bradford

both him and ponder are asscheeks, hell chad henne>>>>>>>gabbert.

This.

If the Rams didn't owe Bradford so much money, they'd most likely have taken RG3.

But there's no RG3 coming out in this draft so the Jags will likely try to ride with Gabbert. I used to watch him every Saturday at Mizzou and I think he could've been better in the NFL if he stayed in college an extra year.

im watching the game right now and henne is so much better than gabbert, even with pressure in front of his face, henne is only 4 years older than blaine gabbert, f gabbert, mayock still sucking up for gabbert because he said he should be number 1 last year.

honestly f it, the game is changed now, look at bud adams in tenn willing to clear house gm, coach players if necessary, pat shurmur in cleveland will be gone after this year.

owners are not sitting around and waiitng like back int eh apst when they signed a top 10 qb to like 5 years 60 mill with 30 mill guranteed and were stuck with him, gabbert and ponder have shown absolutely, these guys will never be a franchise qb :beli:, look at luck, look at rg3, look at tannenhill, russeel wilson, newton, dalton, hell even old man weeden has shown me in a few years he will be a stud and EVEN HIM

Fantasy Football Breaking News - Rotoworld.com

1 YEAR thats it a first round 1 pick has 1 year to show them something.

the biggest mistake teh vikings ever did was not trading up 1 spot and taking rg3, imagine rg3 and adrian peterson and percy harvin?

now you have christian ponder:heh:

you can see it right now that gabbert and ponder are just the next tim couch's, david carrs, joey harrington

As shytty as I think Gabbert is...you can't compare a 5+ year vet to a 2nd year player.

LOL @ 1 year, though. You think teams are going to discard top picks after a year if they don't pan out? That's silly, especially for QB's. Again, QB's that you draft as the face of your franchise in the top 10 get 3 years. Has nothing to do with money either.

Exactly the point I made earlier. There are no generational QB's...why go waste a pick on a QB with as much upside as Gabbert had coming in? It's silly...especially for a team that needs a lot of work.

yup

jags dont even have to waste their first rounder on a qb, tyler wilson/bray/ej manuel/landry jones one of these guys should be available in the second maybe even the third one.

the string in football is short as hell now, owners will fire gms/coaches (look at carolina/cleveland/ tenn on the hot seat) and the folks they hire have nothing tied down with the avg young qb or rb

again this is why i give pete carroll props, seahawks went out and spent all that money on flynn and he still said f it and threw russell wlson in as his starting qb,

if im leslie frazier and i end the season say 7-9 and miss the playoffs, 3 straight years no playoff appearances, and i have a chance to draft a geno smith, matt barkley, tyler bray, ej manuel, aaron murray (if he comes out) you think im going to sit back and be like lets give this kid a few more years to get it together :upsetfavre:, or im heading right to Rick Spielman office and be like geno smith is on board i say we draft him.

browns would toss weeden in the trash, and yes teams would, if the gm and coach are brand new they have no ties to the old regime breh, there is a reason that matt hasselback is starting in tenn and not jake locker, hasselback is tenn best hope to win, and bud adams already put the team on notice

back in teh day, teams would keep on trotting out carr and couch, and harrington for yeras because of their enormous salaries, those days are over, like i said weeden only hsa 7 games to prove himself, holmgren is GONE, the new gm doesnt give a shyt about weeden, hes worrying about his own hide

gabbert really didn't have that much upside he was overrated by mike maylock, he was a qb who played in the pass happy big 12 and didnt even put up great numbers, i mean he threw for 16 tds as a junior and barely over 3,000 yards in the big 12:beli:

considering the qb before him chase daniels, and the qb after him james franklin both had tremendous better numbers playing in the same offense.

its just that gabbert had size, and ran a 4.6 at the combine , i called it on the hamster dude was trash, he wasnt even better than ricky stanzi.

This is silly talk. QB's, especially franchise QB's get more than a year. So do the Panthers go and look for a new QB if Cam continues to struggle this year? You have to groom a QB and that takes longer than a year.

That draft was a bunch of meh QB's (besides Cam) and a bunch of teams that were desperate for QB's which is why we saw the inexplicable Ponder pick. I was shocked dude went so high.

imo gabbert sucks. but the thing is, so is the rest of the team pretty much :manny:
jags have to rebuild from the groundup, so they might as well give him a bit more time to be sure :manny: and grab a dominant player at other position instead.

Jacksonville is offensively handicapped. I think Gabbert could've been a good project QB on a better team, but he was not ready to get thrown into the fire as a rookie. I think he can still be a decent QB, but not the way Jacksonville is at the moment. The need to get an entirely new WR corps, a RB to spell MJD. They need get an entirely new O-Line outside of Eugene Monroe. The next draft should be all offense and they need to get a new Offensive line coach and O-coordinator.

Justin Blackman just had 236 yards in a game. Cecil shorts has been one of the better wr in the league this year.

I could analyze the rest of your post but I don't blame you for not knowing much about the jags. We suck :to:

The problem that Jags fans have with Gabbert is that he's a check down machine. Only downfield passes he'll make is if somebody's WIDE open. With Henne, he gave the wr's a chance to make a play on the ball. The Lewis red zone TD is a pass that Gabbert would of checked down to the FB or held onto it and taken a sack.

And the WR's are actually getting better as the season goes on; Cecil Shorts showing the most improvement.

Somebody posted this gif a while back and this sums up Gabbert

its over for him

The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed quarterback Blaine Gabbert on injured reserve following a forearm injury suffered against the Houston Texans. Since Gabbert is going in injured reserve, he will also go ahead and have surgery on his injured left shoulder and get it fixed.

Following up the team's loss to the Houston Texans, Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey noted that Chad Henne was going to start the game against the Tennessee Titans and it was based on a combination of performance and Gabbert's injury.
