Ehhh plenty of vanity labels have no real artists on them so its not really the biggest failure.

For a lot of artists the vanity label is a way to get a slightly bigger cut of their OWN album sales, and also extra money from the label. Many artists have no intention of EVER signing anyone but want the vanity label for the financial benefits.

I'm not gonna front, if OVOXO was still around, they would have FUKKED up the game and Nothing Was The Same would have been a legendary album. You can tell by listening to NWTS that The Weeknd carried that nikka Drake on Take Care and gave his album that "smooth player" sound and dark R&B atmosphere. Listen to all 3 of his albums and you can easily tell Drake was the smoothest on Take Care and less herbish/female like. Weeknd had that nikka in check like Ike Turner and it allowed Drake to have one of the biggest albums of his career.

The reason Weeknd is struggling now is because you don't fukk over those jewish connects and cross them. Drake made sure Weeknd will stay an underground artist. He should have signed to Drake when he still had the chance.

I can't get with the weeknd's sound. Too abstract and all over the place and I hate the vocal effects he uses. The only songs I truly vibes with by him was "what you want" and "imitation".

Drake has several songs I rock with, so while he's a cornball, I gotta ride with him on this particular comparison.
