Ski gear ranges from pricey to discounted. Imma assume you want discount. You can go to Backcountry.com, they typically have great deals. Typically it’s all last seasons items and colors but if function is more important than latest season style to you, then you can eat of this site.

Outdoor Gear & Clothing | Outdoor Online Shop | Alpinetrek.co.uk

How cold does it get in NC? Never been skiing there. Only places on the east coast I’ve skied is New England - Stowe, Killington, and a few other places.

Most important thing for skiing is layering. It’s better to have more layers that you can shed then to have too little and be uncomfortable.

You want to have -

base layers (top and bottom)
ski pants (no jeans or sweatpants)
midlayer
outer layer (ski jacket)
ski socks
ski gloves
helmet
ski goggles

It’s all the same shyt for snowboarding too although snowboarding jackets and pants are constructed different than ski jackets and pants.

I don’t see it getting too cold in NC (I’m from Chicago) so you may not need a full on ski jacket. A base layer, mid layer fleece, and ski pants may keep you warm enough. Maybe a light outer shell to be safe but a full on ski jacket may be too much. The thing about outdoor apparel for skiing, mountain climbing, etc. is that the construction technology and materials are supposed to keep you warm in sub zero artic conditons. That’s why I love ski apparel because when Chicago goes through it’s artic chills, I can step out with nothing on but a base layer and a ski jacket and I’m warm and cozy af. :ahh:The materials are suppose to be water resistant, wind resistant, etc.

The best outdoor apparel companies are your Arcteryx, Patagonia, Outdoor Research, Mountain Hardware, Marmot. Helly Hanson, Salomon, Peak Performance, etc.

Apparel can get pricey but new shyt becomes super discounted after the season is over.

Backcountry is a good place to save on appare considering skiing can get pricey with the hardware, lift tickets, traveling accommodations alone.

I acted a fool on some marmot about 7 years ago. Everyone was rocking Columbia and Northface. I had to come through different.

Lol, this has been since college. Northface, Patagoina etc.

I have a Patagonia down jacket and a fleece. Very good quality material and it lasts a long time. Also well priced and pretty lowkey.

Fun Fact: The founder of The Northface (one of Patagonia's main competitors) died from hypothermia while in Patagonia (the mountainous region in southern South America that the company is named after). Quite ironic.

chess not checkers.....they hit the north face company with the :umad:

Funny how it’s become a household name. I see their stuff in Marshalls big time nowadays. Used to wear a lot of their print ties.

I'm wearing a Patagonia jacket now. This jacket is the shyt. Probably weighs a pound and keeps me super warm. Most of the time I only wear a tshirt under it and I'm fine.

Link? Im pass walking around with bulky coats during the winter cause im usually just going from the car to where ever anyway

Well if we're throwing out good clothes to wear in a field environment or simply hard use work clothes I can co-sign 5.11, Cyre Precision, Beyond clothing, and First Spear

It’s a bit tongue-in-cheek but the patagucci and vineyard vines fleece, chinos, and Gucci bit loafers are considered to be the unofficial uniform of Wall Street and Midtown finance firms. If you trying to fit in, you typically dress like this. This account has me :bryan:

:dead: these clothes look like all the shyt left on the clearance rack at Ross, Marshalls, and Burlington.
