I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and I moved to NYC as soon as I graduated college.

I was sick and tired of seeing confederate flags everyday on people's cars and flying from their houses. PA isn't even the south so you know that shyt is flown by racist crackers.

Pennsylvania is a commonwealth...so it's old fashioned. It's basically on some hillbilly racist shyt aside from Pittsburgh and Philly. The middle of that state? no bueno.

I've said it before on here that Pennsylvania isn't exactly an east coast state when you separate Philly...if anything it's kinda Midwest-ish...Pittsburgh has always struck me as an Midwestern city in terms of atmosphere.

It very much is. Outside rowhouses it's more like Cleveland than say Newark, Nj

Pittsburgh is similar to Cleveland because they two hours apart lmao. It ain't really Midwestern, yall got a narrow view of Midwest...

I went of KC and Indy and Kansas and them shyts don't resemble Pittsburgh in the slightest...

What yall talking about is "Great Lakes culture", which is a recognized multi region subculture of both the Midwest and the Northeast. You could easily google this....its like when cats call Buffalo "Midwest". No, it's not coastal so it (and Pgh and other cities) are interior Northeast rather than East Coast...

The Midwest is a large region. Really what cats should be talking about is how Cleveland is in the Mid but has East Coast elements to it, shyt don't feel nothing like Kansas City or Indianapolis or probably a number of full Midwest cities...

Sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine from defending Western NY from Midwest accusations for years lol...

I really enjoy Pittsburgh, but that's from a tourist perspective, not a native or resident. You could easily notice the segregation there though, and it's well documented racial politics are pretty well known. But I had fun there and would recommend anyone to trip there, I had a fukking blast...
