I'm really not saying anything us who watch football don't know but Ive been shocked at just how easy these rookie/ sophomore QBs are coming in and playing at ELITE levels. It just seems too easy.

We all know the NFL has made it almost impossible to play real defensive. You basically can't touch the QB. Any type of contact by DBs is a penalty it seems. We've seen passing numbers skyrocket this last decade. But what's really been shocking to me is players like Wentz and Dak. 4 games in and they've been damn near perfect.

Don't get me wrong, they are great players but QBing in the NFL shouldn't come this easy this quickly. Even yesterday we see Paxton lynch come in his first game ever and easily move his team up the field. Got no names like Trevor Sieman throwing 4 TD no int games in his 3rd ever start.

All things evaluated, I really think this might be, without a doubt, the easiest era to play QB.

It's easier to be an NFL quarterback today than it has been in the entire history of the NFL.

Something like 90% of the best 100 passing seasons of all time have occurred since 2000.

This year I feel like I've seen so many young QBs come in and just kill it. Is college just preparing them that much more? They look so comfortable. I'm not used to seeing rookie QBs come in and look like hall of famers

It's not easy. Coverages and schemes are more complex than ever. It's partially harder now days because of the way teams are built, most being pass 1st. A QB's best friend is a good running game. Teams of eras past were usually run 1st teams, a good run game opens up the pass. Now days the philosophy is a good pass game opens up the run. I personally still believe in the old school way.
Also look at how defenses are built. They're smaller, and faster. And they have these freak pass rush specialist like Vonn and Mack and Houston and Hawk who line up where ever and go.
When it comes to straight numbers, it's easier but when it comes to playing, reading, and winning, I think it's harder.

nah not really. while these guys look pretty good it's only 4 games. lets not get ahead of ourselves. but the Cowboys and Eagles are both top 10 in rushing. so it's helping them alot

Yeah, and certain things aren't necessarily;y statistisized. In the 70s,80s, and 90s there was a certain intimidation factor that came with being a QB. Back then if you were a QB you knew you had a chance of getting smacked each and every down. It's psychological.

The same is true with Receivers....it's probably easier now than 20-30 years ago because the league is protecting them (and rightfully so)
