Alot people in my generation get fed microwave music and think it's stellar , like this song for instance , shyt lacks soul , ain't no distinction from the other R&B songs on the radio and generic copy & paste DJ mustard beat yet nikkas on here sayin it's heat . Hopefully a new surge of artists are cooking some heat and coming out the left field because shyt is lookin mediocre

You hit it right on the head with "lacks soul". Soul and emotion is the main thing that separates black music from the others. There is no soul in black music period now. First, the intelligence and emotion in hiphop was taken away and replaced with mind-numbing ignorance which has now seeped into R&B.R&B is now a soulless genre. There's no REAL singing anymore, no love, no more live instrumentation, no more real emotion behind singers' voices. Everything is now copy & pasted with a rap feature. There will never be Boys II Men, Maxwell, Brian McKnight, Jodeci, Joe, Carl Thomas, Tank in the mainstream again. Ignorance and "ratchetness" is the main ingredient in black music now.
