Confessions was definitely diverse. He had songs for the club, songs for the bedroom, songs for relationships.

Usher is definitely passionate in his music. Vocally he killed the whole album.

He's far from 1 dimensional.

kelly was deep man. all usher talked about was hoes and relationships to be honest. kelly is next level

That's not 1 dimensional.

Kellz got more subject matters, but in general usher got songs for different situations. Relationship and club songs is diversity.

When you're a pop singer or an r&b singer writing and producing doesn't matter that much. Whatever writing and producing usher was lacking he was making up vocally in the studio and as an all around performer.

People still consider whitney, beyonce, diana ross, janet, etc some of the best of their respective genres and they ain't known for writing or producing either.
