The "relevant" thing is a misnomer.

Better lyrically? Absolutely.
Better-recognized public faces of rap culture in general? Absolutely.
Better representatives of their local/regional street culture, and staying involved with generations that came after? Sadly, no.

What the hell does any of that have to do with you or anyone else being stupid enough to listen to an opinion on hip-hop given by somebody who knows nothing about the importance of two of the most titanic figures of the culture?

You're so desperate to use being older as a negative that you'll happily claim that somebody who is clearly ignorant on a subject matter should be given the time of day just because they're younger. In this case, that subject matter being hip-hop.

Newsflash for you Peter Pan ass nikkas.......Everything in existence gets older. That's what the fukk time does to things.

:skip:
Everything gets older is my whole point. Life goes on in rap just like everything else. Like I've already said, they're important to nikkas of the 90s. The average millennials ain't listened to these nikkas. You saying I'm trying to push age as a negative, not the case at all. I'm saying real shyt. Y'all just keep trying to push your opinions as facts.
you're an idiot. If you want to be a great rapper, you'll study everyone from Grandmaster Caz, to Rakim, to Nelly, to muthafukking Scarface, to D4L. Because you a student of the game.

Lotta young boys who actually rap, know and study Rakim. You sound like a moron.

E-40 is garbage btw. I respect him for his style and hustle he brings from the bay, and his wave. But that nikka trash.
:francis:nikkas can't even be real without you nikkas getting emotional.

:bryan:bu, bu, bu, student of the game. Find me some clips of rappers within the last 10 years mentioning or quoting rakim and krs.

:unimpressed:I'll wait. Cause i can easily find clips of rappers mentioning or quoting e-40.

Rakim & KRS are considered pillars in hip hop. I respect E-40 biz acumen, never really got into his music though....

You hear Rakim - KRS songs in commercials and movies, basketball games, everywhere.

E-40 getting more bread but relevant? Nah

In a commercial market, I guess E-40.
But in a pure hip-hop market E-40 does not even exist.

E-40 is more relevant in terms of current sales success probably, haven't checked the numbers but E-40 is active but in terms of Hip Hop overall Rakim and KRS-One will always be more relevant because while E-40 is a legend they are on a whole other bracket of legend and status and quality within Hip Hop. So they will always be above him, but currently he will probably make records with more commercial success.
