Not gonna click all the way back through the exchange, so I apologize if I’m misunderstanding your point, but didn’t Short and Spice have the Jive deal first?

40 was on Spice’s album in 93.
Indie artist with a distribution deal.

40 got 3.1 mill for signing to Jive which was unheard of for an indie hip hop artist and definitely for a Bay Area artist..

Short, Spice, Souls, KRS-One etc where artist deals.

youre all over the place.

1.) all i said was e-40 was not a bay are pioneer.
2.) even with this youre still wrong. Jive tapped into the bay long before they signed e-40.
False.

40 is a pioneer in the indie artist deal.

After him, the floodgates opened..and why nobody else sign with Jive from that Bay, after the fact?

Name another indie rapper from the Bay who got a 3.1 million dollar deal from a Major label prior to or after him, not named Mc Hammer.

maybe the difference is that you live on his turf.

hes prolly on mt rushmore out there.

but hes not nearly as big outside of his yard.

myself for one.

and youre basing this thread off of a misquote of something that youre claiming I said.
E-40 was in a video 4 years ago that got 337 million views (Big Sean) on Youtube. Same year he dropped his own video that's currently at 62 million views. I'm sure someone in your neighborhood is one of those 400 million views.

So Cal
:patrice:

You're still on this Paid In Full movie thing as if the movie didnt come out in 02 so either u are slow or u are trolling. The movie didnt come out in the 80's. It came out in 02...meaning Rakims impact was influential enough to have a movie with a popular song from him in 02. Thats in response to u saying Rakim had 0 impact on the 00's. But u keep acting retarded talking like the movie came out in the 80's. Paid In Full the movie had zero impact on the 80's because it didnt exist. So you're playing dumb and trolling which is insulting my intelligence so I'm gonna end this here.

Plus I destroyed your bullshyt statement with plenty of receipts. :ehh:

.

And the fact that u didnt know who Eric Bellinger was tells me your R&B playlist probably doesnt exist because u dont have a leg to lift up at 3 am. But that makes sense cuz most trolls are incels who get zero p*ssy.

You can have the last word.
Naw i can't tell if you're slow or trolling. Have you even seen the movie? The movie came out in 02 but TAKES PLACE IN THE 80s. :mindblown:
That's like making an early 90s LA street movie with no death row music. Like nikka, wtf?

Lol at destroying my argument. All you did was provide evidence for shyt i said on the first page.

Maybe he works for you but i don't need eric bellinger to get p*ssy. :manny:

again, what are you arguing with me about??

i dont care about any of this chit. I don't know or care who signed for what out in the bay.

all I said is he didn't pioneer the bay area. it was on the map long before him, and he didn't do anything to increase its popularity.

you up here trying to force a completely different argument about some chit that I don't give a f*ck about.

theres people with more views than that, who can freely walk down the street without any second looks.

hes not a star. never was.

nothing I said was false, and you know it. that's why youre trying to move the goal-posts.

WTF you think a pioneer is? :what:

And you can have you opinion, breh.

You not from the Bay so its irrelevant, its your opinion.

There are plenty of people, including peers from outside Cali who's been in the game consider him a pioneer.

Thats why he's constantly mentioned with Hammer and Too Short, other PIONEERS of the Bay.

:snoop:.

Breh...just...dont even reply...

More rappers shoutout E-40 then Rakim/KRS now days, so he has surpassed them impact wise

“They love me in the Bay like E-40” - Lil Baby

When the last time a rapper shouted out some damn KRS or Rakim

Why do all the hottest rappers in the game fukk with E-40 so tough if he's wack and not even a Bay Area pioneer? :jbhmm: Yet they don't fukk with relevant legends like Rakim and KRS :jbhmm:

These dudes are just out the loop.

E-40 had a great mainstream run when the Hyphy movement took over the nation. Tell Me When To Go and Dat Booty were hits from the West to Down South. I'm sure on the East and in the Midwest too.

Since then, he has maintained his relevancy and has a hit ready to go when he needs one. Choices was one of the hottest singles the year it came out and the music video showed how many celebrities fukk with 40.

Tired of these basement weirdos talking about shyt they know nothing about.

40 also had a classic cameo on The Jamie Foxx show and hooked Jamie up with his wedding tux when he married Fancy. What classic cameo Rakim got?

With that said, no doubt Rakim is more internationally known.

its the other way around.

the fact that youre from the bay and not cognizant to the outside world, makes YOUR opinion irrelevant.

we're talking pioneers who put the bay on the map and blew it up across the country. we're not talking about rappers who are revered within the bay. TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS.

stop placing your eggs on industry peers. get in tune with whats really going on in real life.

e-40 was nowhere to be found when all the acts I mentioned were poppin.
so the only way e-40 could be credited is if he took it to another level when he gained national exposure years later. he didn't come close do doing such. in fact, he kinda did the opposite.
