It is, but I hate that Jay had to tell the public it was classic. I felt like me & my cousin were literally the only nyggas playing it when it came out.

These 4 eyed dweeb ass Nas Stans who never went out talking about "nobody was calling it a classic until" :smh:. The albums that got 4-4.5 mics and later switched to 5 are better than the ones that got 5 off ther bat. Pac albums, Chronic, Wu, Ob4cl and on. If my memory serves me correct, no one was calling anything classic until a few years later unless it got 5 mics from the Jews.

This was around the same time street rappers got criticized for being too violent, mysogynitic, flossing too much and on.

Not True. The Infamous, Cuban Linx, Chronic, 36 Chambers, etc EVERYONE knew that those albums were special. You'd be hard pressed to find someone that didn't think so, especially around that time. Whether they were called "classic" or not doesn't matter, because that term wasn't overly popular until later on. With Reasonable Doubt, it was not considered up there with those albums.

Now with The Source, the basically gave it 5mics because of how big Jay-Z became, and that was him at his rawest. The 4 it got, was an accurate rating.
