His best album by far, I could never get into Muddy Waters because it sounded too clean and polished, something about the sound quality interfered with the album experience. It lost that grimy edge somewhat. Same thing with Nas' sophomore album

cant get into Red's first couple joints.. Muddy Waters & Docs Da Name are my personal favorites

yeah, whut is my favorite red album. like i said before, muddy comes in second and it's funny because muddy use to be my favorite. dare comes in second then doc's da name. doc's da name is his most slept on album from his prime and peak era, and yes, i'm one of those redman fans who think red's got at least 4 classics. i consider doc's da name to be classic :yeshrug:

y'all know what i just realized. i never did replace my copy of dare iz a darkside years ago after i lost it :mindblown:

i might have to buy this cd this weekend and takes some time out to listen to it while ridin' out because you get a different perspective/vibe when you listen to music in the car while drivin' vs just listenin' to while sittin' at the laptop or pc

No more cocoa leave-io, one two three
One two three, all of this to me, is a mystery
I hear you motherfukkers talk about it
But I stay seein bodies with the motherfukkin chalk around it
And I'm down with the shyt too
For the stupid motherfukkers wanna try to use Kung-Fu
Instead of a Mac-10 he tried scrappin
Slugs in his back and, that's what the fukk happens
when you sleep on the street
Little motherfukkers with heat, want ta leave a nikka six feet deep
And we comin to the wake
To make sure the cryin and commotion ain't a motherfukkin fake
Back in the days, our parents used to take care of us
Look at em now, they even fukkin scared of us
Callin the city for help because they can't maintain
Damn, shyt done changed

notorious big lyrically was insane.

Dare iz a darkside was my favorite Redman album until Muddy Waters came along. I bought that album twice! Some lame dude stole my cassette, and I played the second one so much the tape popped:mjcry:

Overall I like "Whut?" better but I like a few songs off "Dare" as much as anything off that album. Plus the whole album had a weird dark vibe I liked....it's kinda like the "Supreme Clientele" of Redman's career.
