Is roti supposed to be already rolled up?

I decided to try something different at the Jamaican spot, so I got stew chicken roti instead of a patty. I thought it was supposed to be rolled up like a burrito with stuff inside. I got a plate of stewed chicken, and a pack of the roti bread, and I had to pick the meat off the chopped up bones, and make my own rolls. And you know Jamaicans cut chicken in ridiculous sections.


And I was expecting some cabbage, and they didn’t add any cabbage.

Yeah, it was just as much work as eating crab legs, and the amount of meat that was on that bit of chicken was not enough. I’m going to stick with the stewed chicken with the rice and beans, cabbage, and plantains, and the beef patties.



But I was happy to see school kids coming there to get patties and a drink. It’s cheaper and better than fast food. You can get a patty, and a side of rice and beans, and a drink for around $7, as opposed to paying $10 for a burger, fries, and drinks.

You can get Jamaican or Trini/Guyanese roti.
