They act friendly but generally want you dead. There is a lot of elitism here as well, so you have to be sharp or else you could get insulted and not even know it
On a more massive scale, Black folks fukked up in the 80's/90's and sold their property while the China town folks and little Italy kept theirs. Mexicans are literally in the middle of a culture and resource battle in the Mission district.
Black folks should have held onto their plots. They should have been had our plots in SF on the westside.... Bayview/Hunters Point is beautiful land as well that they need to hold down, but that is about to turn into "Dogpatch east" for some more yuppies.
SF has always had multiple races. Black folks have been here....
Its mostly the outsiders and transplants that are making it worse. This is why when I moved here I made it a point to only befriend folks who grew up here. They are a different breed than the transplants.

True, what a lot of folks don't realize about the Bay though is that there was a huge conservative white presence in the central Bay Area until the 50s. Before integration happened Oakland had a very significant Aryan presence, there was a large case in the 20s where a lawyer purged City Hall of members with clear ties to the KKK. Oakland was one of that terrorist organization's most active chapters in the West Coast
White flight eventually happened when integration happened though, before then blacks could only live in West Oakland/Southwest Berkeley.All the way up through the early 80s though black people were forcefully kept out of the adjacent Oakland suburbs, especially San Leandro and Piedmont. The San Leandro police used to turn nikkas around at the SL/Oakland city border if you were too melinated.
More pertinent to today though is the fact that the same white population that fled to the outer Bay Area (especially the 925) is over represented in Oakland and SF law enforcement. The KKK never left
the OPD (as well as LAPD) literally recruited officers from the Deep South in the 50s to manage the black population and a lot of those officers' children are in senior positions in the department to this day.San Francisco experienced similar white flight from the Lakeview and Bayview neighborhoods. The demographics shifted right before the iconic hippie era started.

What other big city did you see the ducked off projects in? I've only seen them in suburbs with a lot of open land & subdevelopments, never in the actual cities.

For those of y'all answering "No", I wanna know what other major city in this country are black folk making a quarter of what whites make in a city with a ridiculously high cost of living while simultaneously making less on average than black households do in the entire country. The equivalent would be if blacks made 10,000 a year on average in Chicago or 6,000 a year in Atlanta... can you even picture that? 
D.C. is one of the only major cities with a comparable income disparity (110,000 For whites vs 40,000 for blacks) and even their median black household income is 10,000 higher than SF's
