Is Second Round K.O the most self-inflicted diss track ever?

I used to think this was a GOAT-level diss years ago but as I was listening to it the other day, the more I realize Canibus accomplished nothing outside of ethering himself numerous times...

"I studied your background, read the book that you wrote"

Translation: I'm a Stan.

"I know bytches that seen you smoke weed recently"

Translation: You hang out with bad bytches and get high. I don't.

"You walk around showin' off your body 'cause it sells"

Translation: You're diesel, I'm not. You sell records, I don't.

"99% of your fans wear high heels"

Translation: Women love you. Not me.

"You might got more cash than me"

Translation: You got more cash than me

"You ain't got the skills to eat a nikka's ass like me"

Translation: :dame::hubie:

"We can get it on live in front of the cameras on your own sitcom"

Translation: You are the star of a national sitcom. I'm not.

Can't believe I used to actually listen to this and think he was insulting LL by telling him how much women love him and how successful he is then bragging bout eating nikkaz ass. :scust:

Yup...which is why it was so easy for LL to put his foot in Canibus' ass in that 2nd verse....

That "99% of your fans don't exist" line was just the icing on the cake. It's not even a sensical line when you think about it literally but Canibus faded himself so much in "2nd Round KO" that you didn't need much to shut that shyt down.

This is actually why I constantly question people on here who go "Emcee 1 would destroy Emcee 2" because "Emcee 1 has such a great flow and intelligent lyrics."

All you need is one great haymaker bar in a rebuttal and you can win.

Having a sitcom and female fans was considered a bad thing at the time. Plus 99% of your fans wear high heels was brilliant.

LL had a large female fanbase from the get go so I don't see how this is some nuclear bomb. Big Daddy Kane, Pac, Big, Jay, Snoop, etc....just to name a few other legendary rappers with considerable female fanbases. Playing into women has ALWAYS been a huge part of Hip-Hop. In the 90s, G-Funk and Downsouth kept the dance floors full and made women shake. Rappers in every decade knew you needed those mandatory joints for the chicks to succeed .

It's only a small pocket of "rappity rap" heads that have rejected the idea of Hip-Hop catered towards females throughout the years.

This is all wrong.
Catering to a female fan base was risky.
You had to have a balance.
LL had that balance at times. But to say 99% of his fans were women? :scust:
That line hit hard.
