Catering to a female fan base was risky.
You had to have a balance.
LL had that balance at times. But to say 99% of his fans were women?
That line hit hard.

It basically gave LL that Ja/50/Drake negative connotation like LL was soft and the equivalent of an r&b singer

That "99% of your fans don't exist" line was just the icing on the cake. It's not even a sensical line when you think about it literally but Canibus faded himself so much in "2nd Round KO" that you didn't much to shut that shyt down.

This is actually why I constantly question people on here who go "Emcee 1 would destroy Emcee 2" because "Emcee 1 has such a great flow and intelligent lyrics."

All you need is one great haymaker bar in a rebuttal and you can win.

I thought Kanye and Jin also both explained this.

It's like how a much more technically skilled boxer can get knocked out by the right punch with enough power.

Problem with this post is you didn't post the other lines that add to those quoted.

He studied his background not because he's a stan but because he was looking up dirt on him. The word bytches doesn't mean hot/bad women. And people can see someone do something without hanging out with them. He said you front like a drug free role model when you smoke weed and get high on the side. You walk around showing off your body cause it sells= you're similar to a hot female broadcaster that gets the job because her looks= you are a hoe/prostitute.

Bis is an example of making bad career choices. He was no complete emcee at all. But he was capable of having a greater career. Instead he chose working with fake ass rasta wyclef, picking some of the most boring beats ever, completely failing at a mainstream career attempt, going at a legend like LL and pretty much fukking up his own career before he even reached his prime.
