I swear I remember reading a quote from him saying he didn't like playing in the paint becaus he was scared of getting fouled and going to the line.

I could be completely wrong tho

it wasnt because he couldn't shoot them, his form was actually good. The main problem was that he said he got extremely nervous with everybody in the entire arean staring at him during freethrows.
