Yeah, but maybe not in the mass media sense like Illmatic, Chronic, Blueprint etc

But it was a memorable album, a key part of a Hip Hop battle and you could argue gave Nas a new generation of fans

I consider it a classic in the same way Its Dark and Hell is Hot and Diplomatic Immunity are. You might not see it on any publications list but I bet you can find a ton of people who remember the album fondly

It's gotta be a classic for a few reasons.

1. Everyone has heard it. Ain't no way in hell you listen to hip hop and HAVEN'T heard Stillmatic.

2. The album came out at a very pivotal point in Nas's career. If not for this album Nas might have been another in a long line of rap casualties. Had a "spark when he started" but was on the fast track to irrelevancy. Instead he drops Stillmatic and new life is breathed back into his career and it's allowed him to go strong even to this day.

3. It's home to Ether... arguably the most infamous diss track of all time. Also one of Nas's defining songs.

4. It's home to One Mic, another one of Nas's defining songs.

5. It's just a damn good album. It had such a fresh feel comin off Nastradamus. It was gritty but it was clean too. And Nas as an MC really came off with a new found energy we hadn't really heard from him before. Listen to that intro man... you FEEL Nas's electricity on that track. The passion, the energy, the soul... :wow: Plus there's just so many great tracks on there. Got Urself a Gun, Rewind, Second Childhood, What Goes Around, Destroy and Rebuild... it really is a monster album. So many great songs.

Definitely a classic.

You don't have to argue it, because it's true. First album I purchased and first album I heard from Nas. Got his back-catalogue afterwards and been a fan every since.

It's 4.5/5 quality wise + Huge impact in Hip Hop community = Classic

Nas's flow diversity, creativity/storytelling, mic presence/swag/emotion was at god-like levels on Stillmatic.

Plus he had that a$$hole kick a nikka in the face then help you back up and brush you off attitude.

It's certified classic off impact alone. Only song that was truly wack was Braveheart Party.

Rule was kinda corny cuz if the hook tho.

I think so. If I can listen to an album indefinitely without getting tired of it.. its def a classic.. to me. Illmatic is one of those albums I can listen to at anytime, no matter the mood and still vibe to it like I did when I first listened to it.

it was a pretty good album, but i wouldn't consider it a classic. lost tapes was much better and i still can't give the nod to that one. only nas album i consider to be classic is illmatic.
