G rated era, hell no. Like @puppetmaster said they don't even have anyone that can work the mic with him. Austin is way too quick with the tongue and totally reckless in his delivery. I don't even think there is a guy in the company outside HHH himself that could mic up with Kurt Angle.

i just don't see wrestling in the same space and i think guys like Austin Rock and to a lesser extent a 60 yr old Hogan or Sting, Ultimate Warrior return can command a short term spike in ratings and good ppv buy rates if they were to stay attached for say a yearly program it would regress to the slightly higher to where it is now
Yeah thats pretty much what happened with Dwayne

No... and I don't care how Austin would be booked, or any of that bullshyt people think is gonna magically pop ratings. Ain't no one person bringing shyt back to the ratings they had at that time, and the Rock is proof of that. I know he wasn't the same as he was in his prime, but that ain't it and honestly, neither is Austin. Back then, business boomed not just because of Austin but because of the overall new presentation of the product, and they were doing stuff never seen before in wrestling. 15 years later, it would take them doing some shyt that hasn't been seen (which at this point is damn near nothing), generate major mainstream interest in wrestling, and then hope it gets so popular that bandwagon fans will tune in too because "wrestling is cool now" like last time.

And then there's the fact that a 49-year-old man with a fused neck and bad knees is probably NOT someone you wanna base your company around no matter how good he was in his prime.

Ratings are only a part of the bigger picture anyway. It's about the MONEY they make. You think they're pullin' their hair out cause they don't get 5.1's every week, when WrestleMania is sellin' out big ass stadiums every year? You think WCW went out of business cause of TV ratings? :heh: If a company is generating money, ain't nobody suffering and they sure as hell ain't gettin' canceled.

I'm sure another boom period would be great, but it's not like you can manufacture some fool-proof idea that will definitely ensure it, and it sure wouldn't happen on the back of someone who already had his day.
