To add to this - while there was some stimmy checks and expanded UI, in the grand scheme of things that's not enough to push inflation on the demand side. Most of the CARES act hasnt even hit the economy yet.

Also, AOC (IIRC) and some economist during a congressional hearing said that putting money in economically depressed areas will cause inflation to rise at a minimal amount if at all.

I didnt see that hearing but this is correct.

The CBI increases are two fold.

1. They're compared to a year ago, when no one was out buying shyt
2. Supply is still largely still sluggish and catching up to pre pandemic levels. We would have had inflation if no stimulus or expanded UI was delivered.
