My christian brethren lets discuss this, its a fact that adam and eve were told not to eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil correct? Well since the bible is a whole battle between good and evil (God and the Devil) wudnt that be a contradiction on itself? He didnt want us to have this knowledge he just wanted us to be free and follow his commands...i still believe in the bible but i been thinking about this for a minute

Are you talking about the story of Adam and Eve from a literal point of view...

From a metaphorical point of view...

The story of Adam and Eve is about the introduction of free will, work, death and pain to humanity.

And free will, work, death and pain is due to becoming like God. Having the knowledge of morality.

Adam and Eve is a very Jewish story.

And the Bible overall is a very Jewish book....the first half of the Bible wouldn't make sense without understanding Judaism.

Judaism isn't about God and the Devil or Good and Evil...that's a Christian theme...

Also...

According to the Jewish theology...

God creates Good and Evil...

There is no opposing force to God.

Bro let me put this in perspective for you,

How many sins do you commit:
Premarital sex
Gluttony
Foul words
Not diverting your gaze on women
Etc...

Now if you really believed you would go to hell for ETERNITY, would you really be committing these sins?

I doubt it:mjlol:

So you don't truly believe in God. The concept is just there to make you feel better about life:yeshrug:

In Genesis 2 Adam was told directly by God about the tree. Eve was not as she wasn't around. In Genesis 3 during the conversation with the serpent she mentioned God said don't eat which Adam told her.

The Bible isn't a story about Good vs. Evil. It's a story of redemption. Paradise lost in Genesis and paradise gained in Revelation.

The problem is we are wicked at heart and will not by choice follow God's commandments. That's why God came down or no one would make it.

A main point of Christianity is that we are offered forgiveness for those sins which is what allows us to be with God after our physical death.

First off I think Adam and Eve was an allegory. But the point was that after their creation they were free and innocent. They had no deception or shame or any of that. Once they defied God their eyes were opened to the entirety of the world including sin, shame and death.

Its certainly something I'm thankful for. But I'm not really feeling like arguing with cats trolling in this thread just to troll. If this ain't your thing than don't be irritating just to be irritating. Or do whatever you want. I'm just not engaging in it today :martin:
Fair enough friend, I kinda understand:yeshrug:

I'm going to make people...
and then make them imperfect (but in my image :myman:)
and then I am going to tempt them for some reason instead of allowing them to live in harmony forever
I know the outcome of what will happen with the temptation (because I know all) so I know they will betray me
KNOWING THIS ALREADY...I will still tempt them and tell them they have their own free will :troll: and that they chose to betray me
I will punish them knowing: A I didn't HAVE to tempt them if I didn't want to, B They don't technically have free will since I already know they will betray me.

So I will punish them for an outcome that is both avoidable (by not creating the temptation) AND predetermined (since I already know all, I know they will betray me)

Yep, all in a day's work
