That's true.

I guess it works for me because of my lifestyle.

I pretty much watch everything live give or take a few shows

But I never watched tv prior to September 2014 so I guess I'm still new to this

It depends on how many rooms you watch HD content in.

If you only have 1 TV and only watch stuff in 1 room, you can find 1 HD box and cable for a decent price. The problem is when you have to add on the additional box fees for more than 1 room. I have 3 HDTVs, and I honestly use them all pretty much daily.

Living Room
Mancave
Bedroom

For example, with Comcast, last time I got a quote for cable from them, I think for DVRs and HD, or even just HD, I'd have to pay like 7 or 10 bucks per box depending on which one I got on top of whatever my bill is.

That's an extra 21 to 30 bucks in my case just for HD content. That's what annoys me the most about some of these cable companies and ISPs. So I stream everything, and have an antennae for local broadcasts.

Same reason I dropped at&t uverse. They wanted like 10 dollars per extra box. My cable bill was over 200 a month with the boxes and channel lineup. I have antenna for local, Hulu and Netflix for streams and I download any movie or show that's not streaming.
