No. The Earth is not to be saved. Only the people. The Earth is where the Devil runs wild. Christians are tested to be in the world but not a part of the world. They belong to the Kingdom of God.

Everything Satan says is a lie to deceive you and steal your rightful position away from you as a citizen of the Kingdom of God. He already knows he is doomed, so he's trying to take as many of God's creations as he can with him to that lake burning with everlasting fire. Yeah he's 
Good thing God was looking out for us and sent Jesus to live the life we couldn't. But still it's up to us to not be deceived and actually get to know what God has actually said in the Bible and learn what we actually are, where we're going, and how we're suppose to live during our time on Earth.
Life does not end when you die. Your spirit and soul live on, and eventually you do get your body back but it will be immortal the next time. This is just the beginning.

No praying a special way or good deeds will save you

Don't let other people's behaviors determine your faith , I know about of people who are turned off religion because of the way they see other religious people act ,
