A few of you have already advised against engaging folks elsewhere
, but this topic keeps cropping up and I'd like to know what yalls take on it is. There's a scene in It Takes Two that involves taking out an anthropomorphic stuffed animal. Admittedly it's kinda dark in its execution but I laughed at it. The entire game is demented in this way - hell, you're playing as ragdolls embodied by spirits of people on the brink of divorce. Personally it isn't something I'd play with my kid but I didn't think it was that deep. Quite a few people are upset by it though. Got me questioning my mindset as a parent. And I quote:
I don't want to mock anyone's feelings. I'm just not understanding this backlash. My parents probably could've been more selective with what they allowed me to consume (Candyman fukked me up for weeks lol) but I turned out okay?
"Not just the trust of parents, but the trust of the players in general who are expecting to be delivered a well-acted, well-written, charming, feel good story. You immerse yourself in the game with the expectation of feeling good and being entertained, not having to murder a terrified, screaming animal.
Hope the devs are proud of themselves when they read feedback like this. Ya got the OP's son and made him cry. Great development decision there."
